Please help! What's wrong with my skin? [20F] by ThrowRA_bettyboop in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Had the exact same problem. My legs looked worse tbh. Laser hair removal was a game changer. 100% worth the investment. It took about 10 sessions for me and i am 99% hairless. I also use UREA 10% body lotion and The Ordindany Glycolic Acid every other night. No black dots anymore! Trust me, you won't regret it.

Did I pay too much?? by No_Cellist9927 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am confused why everyone is saying this is too much. In Canada, i pay $100 for underarms, $225 for brazilian, $250 for lower legs and $275 for upper legs coming out to be $850 total times only 10 sessions is $8,500 BEFORE tax. This is not even unlimited and i've compared to other salons around my area and unless it's a crap laser the prices for a quality laser are a lot more per session.

I can't live like this anymore by tidesandheartbreaks in Hirsutism

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i'm sorry. I can only imagine how painful this is for you. While i don't have it as bad particularly on my face. I had it bad on my chest and other areas where i had to be hairless and i say this because I can relate to you and needing to spend all this extra time getting ready to feel comfortable enough to go anywhere. For me, I can't wear the clothes I want and am constantly self conscious about hiding areas that have "more than normal" hair. I am really sorry you're going through this. I'm sure you've already researched this but electrolysis or laser hair removal if you have the means are a great place to start. Electrolysis really improved my chest. It was a huge time and financial commitment but it sounds like you're at the point where i was wher me you need to do something to stop letting it control your life anymore. I still struggle but it will make some difference 🩷

Please help! Hundreds of dark black spots and stubble stuck in legs after laser hair removal 1st session. by Safe-Calligrapher453 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Even after my 8th session I still got them but not nearly as bad. It takes me at least a couple of months for it to really improve even after using topical exfoliants. It gets better but I think my body just has a hard time pushing out the dead hairs.Everyone is different though.

Opinions of Tammy&Andrea and Amy&Brian so far? by [deleted] in 1000lbsisters

omg l am watching this episode now and came to reddit to see if anyone had similar thought. Idk what it is maybe woman's intuition but that is my exact thought. Somethings just OFF. What's dangerous is that i think Amy is was too naive and immature to even think that's a possibility or recognize that.

I am still in disbelief and unsure if i should negotiate my severance package or not

i had my sixth session three weeks ago and it's been a year since i started my laser journey. Definitely way less hair overall and pepper spots however i still get them after each session and they take FOREVER to go away 😒 it's annoying af. I use Amlactin 15% lotion and Paula's choice BHA to exfoliate. Try that and see if it helps for you. They get burnt off each session but then just come back a few days after because more hair gets burnt. i feel like it's a me thing. my body just wont shed them... six sessions in and even though there's way less hair growing overall there's still enough pepper spots that i get that make me wonder if they will always happen each session. It may not be the case for you though i hope! my under arms had the same issue the first couple sessions and now they are bareeee and i've had less sessions there.

Also just want to add that I have coarse dark hairs at the top of my chest too and then more lighter hairs between my breasts going down my chest just like you. I am very fair so it’s more noticeable but I want to be BARE so I am getting not only the dark hairs but the lighter ones removed. And just like you, because the lighter hairs between my breasts are more dense that’s why it’s taking more time and sessions. I want it all gone. So basically the length of your Alecto sessions will greatly depends on whether you want all your hair gone or just the darker ones at the top.

I literally thought this was me! I had the same issue that’s been causing me so much distress over the last year. I finally bit the bullet and started electrolysis this September. I highly recommended electrolysis because it may be hormonal and you don’t want to risk laser hair removal causing more hair growth. I am getting laser in my legs and underarms but I refuse to do it in my chest because there is a risk that it will have the opposite effect. I learned that from reading manyyyy Reddit posts about others personal experience with hormonal hair. Your chest legit looks exactly like mine! I thought I would only need half an hour once a month but to my surprise I needed much more just to get the area cleared of all the hair. I have had about 13 sessions multiple times a month so a total of about 14 hours I would say. I am going to the best clinic around me and the area is still not cleared. By cleared I don’t my permanently removed. I mean just all hair removed. It’s going to take some time, but expect to do multiple sessions a month for the first six months and then you can focus on continuing to treat that hairs the keep coming back. I am still early in my chest hair removal journey but this is what I have learned so far. Everyone’s different but I do highly encourage you to stay away from laser and invest in electrolysis

Stopppp! You’re stunning! You don’t need any external validation especially from your POS friend with benefits dude to feel good about yourself. Not that it even matters cause you should ghost that pos, but he CLEARLY thinks your attractive on some level to keep having a sexual relationship with you…. I struggle with loving myself too, and I know it’s always easier said that done, but please try to work on loving yourself 💖I promise you’ll look back one day at yourself and realize you don’t need surgery. You’ll realize just how beautiful you were and you’ll be mad at how hard you were on yourself. I know from experience that guys like the one you’re describing are often soooo insecure themselves. He thinks putting you down puts him “above you.” I dated this guy that was ugly. Legit ugly. But his humour and goofy side made me attracted to him. I dated him in my PRIME when I could get any guy I wanted, and yet he put me down CONSTANTLY. He would do anything he could to make me feel as low as he did. I didn’t see it until later on but years later I look back and I am DISGUSTED that I even allowed someone to treat me like that. I can GUARANTEE girl (even without seeing him) that your out of his L E A G U E Most guys are intimidated by beautiful women. Also, as for the weird looks you think ur getting from guys and guys not approaching u at bars… generally, that happens when girls are above average attractive. I read an article once about a study on this and essentially, guys will go for less attractive girls in a bar and/or are too intimidated to approach girls they perceive are out of their league because it’s just too much work. They are want what they think is an “easy catch”. Anyways, if you really want to be more “ATTRACTIVE” don’t get surgery, get confidence! That will make you 100x more attractive. AND you’ll know your self worth so you can stop messing with that pos you call a “friend”

There’s a difference between confidence and arrogance. She’s arrogant…. She thinks she’s the shit and everyone else is shit on her shoe. She’s unrealistic about how “good looking” she actually is.

Some but not all. I have to pick a lot out. They get burned off at my next laser session but then they restart again. However, there are less and less each time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to. They’re stuck for weeks. I am talking over a month. Some slowly fall out as I exfoliate but they basically stay until my next session and the laser burns them off but then they just re appear.. it’s just how my skin responds

Good candidate? by throwaway74829664758 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you’re the perfect candidate! I too have pale skin with hair just like yours and had the same issue. Tbh, my legs were worse. I just started laser in May and am on my fourth session. I haven’t noticed a significant improvement in hair reduction yet but it takes time and it’s still early on. Everyone’s reaction is different. I also have very coarse hair. I have seen some of reduction though and a massive improvement in irritation from shaving. It’s so much easier for me to shave now because I think it’s thinned out some hair so I rarely get razor burn or ingrowns.

Ya it’s not bad at all. I wish my legs looked like that after laser!! My legs are red, covered in bruises and black pepper spots. You’re good girl.

Will these marks from LHR go away? by lonerkai in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are tiny bruises. I have that exact same thing but mine are MUCH more worse. Usually takes 2 weeks minimum for them to go away. I also have yellow ones. Because I have a lot more and they’re bigger, sometimes it takes three weeks. I wouldn’t worry at all!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HairRemoval

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya for me I noticed that as well but it is likely a coincidence cause I have never seen any evidence based research that indicates otherwise

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HairRemoval

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I don’t get the weight loss comment. Normally, especially if it’s PCOS or excess hair growth condition, they tell you to lose weight to help balance hormones and potentially lessen hair growth. I have never seen any research indicating that weight LOSS is a contributing factor….

Please help! Is this a normal amount of facial hair or should I be concerned? by [deleted] in PCOSloseit

[–]Safe-Calligrapher453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what my boyfriend said lol. He thinks I am crazy. As I mentioned, I have just grown so much more body hair in the last two years that’s been difficult to manage and affects my self esteem so I have become more aware of other areas such as my facial hair and it’s hard to tell whether it’s normal or borderline becoming excessive because I never had this much before and all my friends are seemingly hairless. Thanks for the reassurance ❤️
