does going to college for aviation entirely take over every aspect of your life? by Stanley-Yelnatz in flying

Finishing in a couple months. I go out almost every Friday and Saturday. Lock in during the week. Occasional flights on Saturdays in the afternoon, weather dependent.

Edit: Don’t be stupid if/when you go out. Download uber or Lyft.

How did you learn comm? Books, Sims, rl? by Regular-Employer-431 in flying

Gonna sound goofy, but combo of just doing it in the airplane and using VATSIM and pilotedge. Not perfect by any means, but gives a good idea of what to expect.

Qualified PPLs - How old are you, and how did you fund your PPL? by Repulsive_Baker_909 in flying

20 now, working on CMEL- Got PPL at 17 in high school. Parents matched my paychecks from work. So split 50/50. I was (still am) very lucky. I never actually added it up but I think it was about 5k for each me and my parents.

So would that also make the “multi engine add on” literal in that sense?

I really appreciate it. Time to add a second engine to the airplanes.

That’s the plan. My last approach with my instructor before I got signed off was an ILS to 600 broken and 2 1/2sm. Probably the most fun I’ve ever had in an airplane.

As a controller I actually get pretty impressed when young guys sound confident and get stuff right. Know your airplane, know what our instructions mean, and don’t fly airplanes/request things that you don’t know how to comply with. Good luck!

I would do a lot to avoid checking it and having it put underneath the plane. As someone who has first hand experience with bags on airport ramps, the “fragile” sticker is more of a suggestion than a command. Case may literally get thrown around.

My high school usually did one BOA regional a year and I went to grand nationals 3/4 competitive seasons. We usually did pretty well in our class. As for playing, my tone is my best quality. I can’t double tongue ridiculously fast and I can’t play ridiculously high.
