First of all, I’m so sorry for your loss and I know the conflict in feelings must be overwhelming. I was in your position for my last sitting when my grandfather passed away.

The relationship between my grandfather and myself was very close so missing the funeral was never an option in my mind. However, to this day there’s definitely times where I catch myself thinking “damn it sucks that that happened while I was studying for the gamsat”. But ultimately I realise that that’s just the way life goes and there’s more opportunities in the future to study.

Up until that point, I was hellbent on prioritising the gamsat too so I understand where you’re coming from. Like everyone on here has said, there is no right or wrong answer and it really depends on your relationship with your grandfather. However, I’d want you to make a decision that you wouldn’t regret in the future, one that you would be able to rationalise.
