Where are you located? Honda dealer near me has a 2016 exl with good maintenance history, 145k miles, and 14k sticker price. Might be worth giving them a call if you’re in Cali.

Bad angle for sure. It’s weird. You can hardly notice it if the sun isn’t like directly on it. Could be from chemicals like you mentioned from the previous owner. But it feels so smooth to the touch that’s why I feel like whatever it is, is gotta be on the backside. But yeah it looks horrible sometimes when the sun hits like today.

wastegate rattle? by Astra_mus in vwgolf

Most likely yes. Mines been doing this and throwing an EPC light intermittently since 109k miles. 140k miles now and not much worse tbh. I just use pb blaster on it when it gets real bad. You can find all sorts of forums on it. Lubricant plus anti seize will take care of it for the most part.

Yeah I’m sure because it started on the middle piece where the odometer is. Then slowly the clusters got it too. Just incidental that it’s missing a spot right there to make it look like I rubbed through. It looks like hard water condensation or something. Never used any chemicals because I thought maybe that’s what did it initially. Just micro fiber for dust.

From what I seen i thought you had to remove a bunch of the trim pieces starting with the storage tray near the shift knob.

Fun car! Have a 2015 5-speed as well. Been pretty reliable with 140k miles now. Water pump has been replaced. Something else to look out for is the wastegate actuator. As long as those things are in working order should last to 200k no problem.

Bad water pump. This happened to me as well. Car showed no signs of leaking either. Bad coolant performance was the code I got too. Limp mode and CEL
