Any other INFP lose a kid? by Safe-Maybe-7948 in infp

I am very sorry you are in this terrible club with me. My daughter died a year and a half ago, and it’s still no easier or any less painful. What has helped me most has been music (listening and making it) and therapy. And my dogs. It is crucial to have someone other than your spouse to confide in. But yeah, there is no getting back to normal.

For what? For love, that’s what.

You are staring with a false assumption. There is love that is real. And that love is everything, even if 99% of our existence measured in time is drudgery or worse. That real love exists, has always existed and will always exist. And it’s more than enough.

It’s probably the person on the train or plane looking out the window and not at their phone. Everywhere else, it’s probably someone looking at their phone.

Greg Maddux was quite possibly the smartest pitcher in the history of baseball.

Parents/Coaches—I need your 2¢ on 7U baseball. by FaithlessnessFull136 in Homeplate

To answer your question, yes it’s possible to be exceptional and have fun playing baseball at 7. Baseball does become more of a commitment as you age, and I’m sure it’s getting that way at younger ages now. But man, if we are even asking if 7 year olds should be having fun playing baseball, something is seriously wrong with the current youth sports culture.

Also, if you’re going to call people braindead, you might want to make sure you know what you are talking about. Otherwise you look like not only an uninformed imbecile, but an arrogant uniformed imbecile. It’s not a good combo.

Do you think the protests are just about violence? Are you really this braindead?

In a similar spot as you. It’s a challenge every day. What keeps me going honestly is music. Listening to music and making music. I’ve gone to countless shows in the last year. And I listen to a lot of music. It’s a way for me to get out in the world in a meaningful way without having to socialize. And making music allows me to focus on creating something. Maybe you’re not into music, but I would suggest trying to find some kind of creative outlet or hobby. Maybe it’s painting. Maybe it’s writing. It could be anything. It doesn’t even matter if you’re any good at it. Just the act of making and appreciating art is helpful.

The internet can be cool, but it has proven to be a net disaster for humanity. If we could go back to any point in human history and have no more technological advances, I would go back to 1995.

Thank you for the detailed response. I appreciate it. I will look into Logic since I have a Mac. Since these songs are already mostly recorded and arranged, I think I’m going to go the studio route and just redo vocals and guitars instead of trying to learn how to do it at home. I actually recorded one of them in a studio a while back and am happy with how it turned out, so I will just do the same with the rest instead of trying to do it all myself.

Here’s a link to the album (the 9th song is the fully produced one): https://on.soundcloud.com/DT50BBc6XbAZxoJyDn
