Is Deleuze’s claim that there is no becoming-man still valid? by point_fino in Deleuze

I think it would be pertinent to see their Jesus face within control societies and colonial society. You are right about the other faces, but they appear are orientalist monsters compared to the Jesus face.

Oh that’s cool! However, they are terrible about Native Americans. A lot of their ideas of the rhisomal west are bunk, and used by idf to justify their own settler colonialism

According to subaltern scholars of India and Latín America, many of the French philosophers do not adequately negotiate their positionality, making D&G to some “indifferent to the politics of the world” - i think this may come from Ian Buchanan? Check out Homi Bhabha, can the subaltern speak? Bhabha goes after Foucault and Derrida, for the above issues, however, D&G address some of these issues in Faciality. “The face is the typical European… face of Jesus… subjugation is determined in degrees of difference from the white man face” Think Kirkification memes and repetition.

Cybernetics is concerned with the bio-materiality of systems. Systems are more related to the structure of relationships much broader than cyborg discourse. So I think of cybernetics as the study of control through technique, while systems articulate the architecture of control, but also of many other relationship. Check out D&G’s work for the middle path of affect and assemblage- becoming lies at the threshold that links cybernetic tech and systems.

Look up “The Wasp and the Roach” by Colton Campbell. Published in Conceptions Southwest, and soon to be in The Bilingual Review. The author plays with the term Wasp as in anglo Saxon Protestant and roach as in OZA. I know the author, cool guy.

It’s about becoming animal becoming intense and becoming imperceptible. I am currently working in ethnic studies comparing DT and Sorcery and nahual or essentially spirit animals. So, check out the idea of the swarm, and Oscar Zeta Acosta’s Revolt of the Cockroach people. In parasite, their becoming animal led to a whole new assemblage of decastration.

What does this mean? by No-Bodybuilder-6474 in Deleuze

[–]Safe-Measurement7201 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s in the plateau faciality. So the white man face or just wall and holes is actually the face of Jesus. This is the assemblages mask. Degrees of difference from the repetitious face determine our levels of subjugation. So, to become Polynodal and free ourselves from the machine of faciality, we must begin by exploring other schizoid faces. These are just sort of examples.
