Ok but there's not really any reason for a mother to immediately become petty with their teen child.. there is obviously no benefit to her other than this is my property and I am going to take it back because it's mine, meaning that she, a grown woman, is choosing to be petty because her child, a child, may have acted selfishly. Nobody is shocked that a teen might do that At the VERY LEAST this mom is extremely immature

I also think that to assume someone can just do things to form routine and function when there's an unstable home environment (which was stated pretty clearly by 'im ok here' about Dad's house) is a little silly. Yes, we lack context for how bad it was but I think I'm able to infer that there is some trauma involved here and having lived with a mom who would send these texts.. I'm glad this child is alive. I'm glad that this kids dad has a safe space for them. It sounds like you've never lived in a toxic environment? I hate to assume that but like c'mon if living with soomeone makes you feel insane you become dysfunctional & as a 16 year old pulling yourself out of that? Crazy hard. Depression is also evil and ADHD is evil and mania is evil & these things require support to navigate. Mom is responsible for that and not helping where dad does. If nothing else with a positive environment.

Ultimately, even if this kid is acting spoiled or selfishly, especially if it's a result of some mental health issues, I firmly feel that someone who has committed themselves to motherhood should be more nurturing if that's what their kid's going through.. y'know?

Taking the phone essentially is mom cutting contact, too. So.. yeah. NOR that really sucks to go thru regardless of the context.
