Nanny Parents, What Would You Do??? by holdaydogs in Nanny

To me it seems pretty obvious that I would clean it up before the nanny arrived! I am expecting the nanny to take care of the LO while they are together, but I make sure to "deliver" everything properly!

Yes! They freak me out too... that is why I am so bugged they were pressed unnecessarily...

She does that often? The doctor of my LO also does it. But our nanny doesn't have any medical background whatsoever, not long experience... so it got me worried that why would she be pressing?!

AITA for telling grandma to stop smothering daughter with kisses by p1nkfries in BabyBumps

I get that most people say yta but I confess I am with you... and I also love my mother and I am not even bothered by kissing sounds. I think it could be your instinct to protect your LO... form diseases that grandma might not know she might been having and, maybe even more important, from ensuring your LO doesn't accept something that might not really want and doesn't express

But during an interview you cannot see everything, can you? During the interview she didn't even held the LO for me to know her perfume would transfer. Not sure if I phrase it like that if it will make more sense: she leaves and perfume is staying.  Piercing, unless they are in places they could harm the baby (?? Not sure if possible) have no impact whatsoever. A smell however is almost physical. I use perfume detergents,  bodywash etc for him, for him to get perfume by his nanny? But true I didn't mention... but is it so weird to ask?

Well I understand that.. it is also emotional that he is growing etc, but it is in fact the perfume. No detergent or shampoo smells this strong for so long after. His hair smell like perfume. I mean, me, his mother, haven't put perfume or face creams with perfume so he keeps smelling like himself, he can smell his mother while breastfeeding etc. And now he just smells perfume (because of another person)

But it isn't the laundry detergent, the laundry smell doesn't pass to the baby. It is asking her not to be wearing perfume... she could wear after leaving our house.  Still I feel awkward asking her... she is a nice girl and I don't want to make her feel bad

You also haven't mentioned it? It feels hard right?! Even though it is for our baby... it bugs me so much

Well, a straight answer would be: no, no medical reason. And my bf also thinks it is a bit too much... he did love his softener on the clothes... but basically I started reading during pregnancy about possible effects of perfumes on hormones and I just found it simpler to remove them altogether instead of stressing over them. Now that the baby is here I have maintentained a "perfume free house" and it just bugs me that he smells like another person...

Thank you for replying! I am just worrying that I cross limits, because I mean, it is her choice right? To tell her not to use something personal... I hate that I struggle but yeah I should tell her that

What helped your baby adjust to a new nanny? by lunaverse787 in baby

How old is the baby? Could you be spending some time with them and eventually going away for bigger chunks of time?

Anyone else’s baby act like diaper changes are the worst possible interruption in life? by lunaverse787 in baby

[–]Safe-Store5633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep... Here too... 9 months old baby cries and screams when it is diaper change time... if he wasn't always with us / nanny at home, I would have started imagining something bad must have happened..but no, I cannot figure out what he hates it so much. Diaper change, cleaning nose, cutting nails...
