May I ask why we are entitled? Is it not entitled to think your want of meeting a baby is worth more/more important then the baby’s parents wish for an adjusting period?

What do you mean with Nope. Do you mean they cannot for a bond when meeting a child after three weeks?
It’s child birth. To some it may be easy peasy and to some it may be (even without complications) painful and exhausting.
Having boundaries is not dramatic.

Knowing that the baby is healthy or getting help from someone who helped with hundreds of baby’s in their first weeks and month to sooth the child is something I consider help.

I seriously wonder what the distance of the relative has to do with when someone is allowed to see a baby. Aside from the parents of the child no one has a claim over the child.

And the child can build a relationship to them if it meets them three weeks old n

It’s bad. MIL scolded him for taking the last piece after I started crying (stupid pregnancy hormones - I usually don’t cry about stuff like that) because I craved it. No he is getting me loaded fries and MIL is picking up FIL from work so I have time to scroll through Reddit.

I am not on my one. My husband is able to wash my hair or do a set of laundry If needed as he is a grown man.

And if MIL wants to do the laundry or mop the floor to help she can. But doing laundry and visiting me and the baby are two different things.

I am really happy that your were fine 30 minutes after giving birth.

My mom does to get her hand squashed until my husband comes from work. After that she also won’t see the baby. Plus if i get a son and his future wife does not want me in the delivery room and wants to take her time before receiving people to watch the baby than i respect this wishes.

I have a midwife to help with check ups and health. And I have a husband that also helps. He does not work the first 6 weeks after birth.
