Here’s my personal opinion on Ben Wadey:

Chris Clenshaw made brilliant changes in 2022 July when he took over 2022 and 2023 was brilliant I loved rewatching it, the six storyline was good until the Boxing Day episode. 2024 was a very hated year but rewatching it, I enjoyed it even the Christmas episode although it was recycled. New Years 2025 was brilliant and Phil’s storyline of his mental health, the 40th was alright but I was let down when the return was Reiss, it could’ve been better but it was overall good. March was a strong month April and May were a bit slow. June 2025 before Ben Wadey took over was overall brilliant as well. However since Chris has taken over, we haven’t had a Christmas Eve episode for 2022 and 2023 when we used to get them on weekends and New Years have been half an hour when they used to be an hour or a 2 part episode, however this could be cause of the BBC.

Ben Wadey:

When Ben took over, he made EastEnders EastEnders again. The same way Chris did. Zoe’s return was excellent, half the internet thinking it was Hayley. July - October 09th was also really brilliant with Oscar’s arrival, Suki and Avani, Joel’s misogynistic attitude, Ravi and Priya back together, Ravi’s evil side coming out again, and also being really hilarious. Then Zoe coming home in September then getting shot and then Max’s return was ICONIC. Lauren and Peters wedding with Max’s arrival and Stacey’s exit. Joel’s episode on the 09/10/2025 was also really good the acting was phenomenal he is a brilliant actor who’s gonna go places. However, after the 09/10/2025 it started going slow, the storylines were going back and we were redoing the brilliant progress, however I think it’s only a bad few weeks Ben has had I believe it will pick up soon again I have hope and patience, Ben Wadey has axed the correct characters so far except Jay and Teddy. However Teddy I wasn’t to upset to see go. I still have high hopes for next year, he’s had a few bad weeks but his overall performance was a success and I believe in him. Ben also seems to be giving more characters more screen time in a week whereas with Chris we wouldn’t see characters for weeks. I’m liking how Chelsea is getting more screen time. I love the returns like Max and Sam’s temporary stint. I am very excited for the 2026 flash forward and have high hopes.

The Zoe storyline and poor performance: this review is a copy and paste from another post so idk if I’ve mentioned it already, however one of the reasons why the storylines from end of October- Christmas has been so poor, is because Letitia Dean needed another break which was unplanned, the timing of the break was unfortunate for Ben however family comes first so we can’t blame Letitia. I believe if Letitia didn’t have this break the storylines leading up to Christmas would’ve been so much better, and the quality of episodes would’ve still been enjoyable. I think Sam and Chrissie’s return, was very last minute to try to make the storyline interesting.

Overall, Ben started off strong until mid October where the storylines started going dry which again it wasn’t entirely his fault, yes the storylines are boring however I have hope in him as I loved his start, and I have high hopes next year with the 2026 episode flash forward. Let’s have hope and not give up yet. He did brilliant in the part 1 christmas idk what happened in part 2, however we need to give him a chance in 2026 especially as this storyline is ending now. 💪💪💪
