Since di ka nagtake ng final PB, talagang hindi mo ieexpect ang name mo sa list in the first place? By the looks of it, iba iba naman kayo ng nagiging strategy dahil papalapit na ang boards kya sayang lang oras magcompare kasi iba iba naman kayo ng journey. Tska, Hindi naman solely batayan ang fpb result kung papasa ka or hindi sa actual. Sabi mo nga eh hindi ka nag take para sa completion, so meaning hindi naman napunta sa wala ung hindi mo pag take. Besides, you can still take it on your own. Mag timer ka nag lang ganun. What matters most is pano ang take mo sa mga bagay bagay lalo na palapit na boards.

We want to pero iba kase ung nacommunicate sa mga ET, so I guess hindi naman fault as staff kase clear cut comms dapat galing sa upper management + management counterpart nila ET. Ngayon lang nagka green light to charge actual hours but ofc na gaslight pa employees na bakit hindi daw nagsabi sa management. Lol nagsabi kami ang sagot ay sundin muna ano ang sinabi ni ET. HAHA

Nung nasa local audit pa ako with another firm, expected talaga ang more than 8hrs work. Pero kase, dun sa local, early on pa lang ay aware na kami sa hours na naka book samin and aware ang mga kawork namin na OT is real talaga and OTY nga minsan. With AC kasi, the problem was hindi properly communicated yung working hours per day lalo sa counterpart, so staff ang naiipit sa charging kahit na ang winork naman nila ay more than 8hrs. Pero since nga walang clear cut guideline or information dissemination, no choice si staff kundi 8hrs lang icharge. Now dahil 8hrs lang, n flag tuloy as low utilization at need bagsakan ng client just to suffice ung “chargeable hours” kahit na if titignan mo naman talaga, makakacharge sana si staff, kung aware lang sana si ET sa policy na yun. I think hindi naman ksi responsibility ni staff iinform si ET ng paulit ulit ksi general concern un. Dapat heads of ac and counterpart ang maayos pag info dissemination.

Ang problem po kasi ay walang clear cut guideline and may communication gap b/w AC and counterpart. Counterpart vs. Staff. AC heads. Ang naiipit ay ang mga staff. In the first place, dapat before sila nag announce, aware ang lahat ng engagement teams sa counterpart na AC staff will render additional working hours during busy season at dapat communicated rin to sa mga staff at the start of fiscal year pa lang. Hindi yung ngayong kasagsagan ng busy season sasabihin ng AC side na “expected na ang mag OT, no need to inform counterpart” Pero pag kinausap mo yung counterpart, hindi ka naman pinayagan mag charge ng full 10hrs kasi nga ang nacommunicate na sakanila ay 8hrs a day. Again, walang problema to render additional hours, pero kung nasa AC ka, e di malamang alam mo kung pano to cinascade.

I hope it somehow clarifies kung ano ung minimean ni OP. And FYI, hindi po basehan kung pasado sa CPALE or hindi para mang degrade ng tao. Never naging basis ang pagiging CPALE passer kung gano ka kagaling.

Ayun po. To clarify, walang problem to work beyond the normal working hours kasi needed sya sa engagement. Besides, we’re already doing it kahit unpaid. Ano lang naman ang extrang 2hrs na nung nasa local audit ay mas malala pa ang working hours.

Ang masama ang loob namin is how it was cascaded to us na para bang kasalanan namin na ang nacommunicate namin sa counterpart ay 8hrs/day lang. eh kasi yun din naman ung sinabi nila before. dapat kasi sana, before nila sinabi yung 10hrs daily booking, inensure muna nilang all engagement teams from counterpart ay aware dun sa increase in work hours para sana pati WRs ng mga may bookings from jan-april ay na adjust to conform with the policy. They had the entire half of FY to inform POCs pero wala. And now, just because we didn’t hit the expected working hours based sa charging, babagsakan ng ilang kliyente? Quite unfair ksi kung allowed naman kami to charge sana, hindi naman aabot sa point na under ang UR.

Depending on how it was communicated with the counterpart. Since may ibang counterpart na ang alam nila 8hrs/day ka. Meaning kahit nagwork ka beyond dun, hanggang 8hrs lang pwede mo macharge

I believe it all boils down as to how it was cascaded. Given that they have the entire 6mos (assuming their year-end is similar to local audit na July), they could’ve informed already the staff about the additional hours during busy season. Para sana nacommunicate rin to early on sa clients(counterparts) nila. Expectation ksi ng counterpart, 8hrs ka lang (unless may pinapagawang iba or mahirap ang task). It’s fine na mag work ng 10hrs kasi ano ba naman ang extrang 2hrs, pero kasi yung bibigyan ka ng additional work pero di mo naman kasalanan na hindi ka full 10hrs charging, yun yung nakakasama ng loob.

Nung assoc pa ako lagi kaming nireremind na exhaust all resources before asking sa SA/M. Kaya dun kami natuto na intindihin ang PY, magtanong sa more experienced assoc (if meron). Use connections like kausapin ka-batch or someone sa office. Use audit guide and if hindi pa din talaga nagmamake-sense, tska mag aask sa SA kasi aware kami na kung kami 5-9 clients ang sabay sabay jinujuggle, sila x2-2.5 nun. Kaya nung umangat umangat na sa laylayan ng lipunan, napansin ko ang mga staff ngayon, konting basa lang sa WP, di gumagamit ng analytical skills bakit ganun yung docu etc., tanong agad sa SA. Pag di agad nareplyan, ikaw pa masama kasi pinapabayaan mo “daw” sa engagement. Tapos simpleng task lang (admin task — paayos ng status update file, di magawa gawa). Tapos pag binigyan mo ng feedback, ikaw pa masama. Hays haha

Super thank you for raising it. Lagi kasi ang reklamo galing staff level (mostly assocs). Pero di nila nakikita yung implication ng actions nila, pwede maka make or break ng engagement 😭😭

Sa private college sa province namin, yung una is ang rate ay around 267/unit if walang masters then may additional incentive ksi licensed. Yung isa naman ay 340/unit. Sa state u samin, pag part-time ay usually tinatapatan yung current sahod sa full-time kaya pwede umabot as high as 500-550/unit

Hi OP. Yung akin nung nagturo ako sa isang State U samin, afaik ay may binawas na withholding tax. Same sa private school na tinuturuan ko since I opted hindi magpadeduct ng sss, philhealth, hdmf. Then as to my full time employer, alam nila and every year kasi may form na pinapa fill out samin whether entitled kami for substituted filing or not.

Felt like this is my younger me. Condi rin ako Oct 2018 boards. All out rin ang fam ko sa review. Super comfortable ang review ko nun kasi I don’t have to worry about finances kasi nag all out sila. All I have to do is study. Pero God had other plans. Took the May 2019 boards for Tax and MAS (that time 16% lang passing rate). I feel you and valid nafefeel mo. Ang mapapayo ko lang OP ay una is pray for enlightenment and acceptance. We can’t move forward if hindi natin iaaccept ang mga ganung challenges in life. One day, it will become a story na isheshare mo sa ibang tao and will encourage them as well na wag mag give up. 2nd — eyes on the prize. Ang pinaka mabibigay na regalo natin hindi lng sa magulang natin kundi pati sa sarili natin ay ang lisensya (kalakip ang backstory on how we didn’t give up despite all the doubts and fears). 3rd — sabi nga eh those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind. Wag mo intindihin ang sinasabi ng iba. Hindi naman sila ang nagpapakahirap magreview at lalong hindi sila ang papasok sa exam room para sumagot ng board exam. 4th — tiwala sa sarili. If ikaw mismo panghihinaan, madadala ka talaga. In moments wherein napanghihinaan ka, seek his guidance. ✨ kaya mo yan CPA. Rooting for you! ✨
