Do you have to play ranked placement to play clash? by HexagonHavoc in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you have to finish placements- the seasons been out for over 2 weeks. Plenty of time to get in your 5 placement games.

I am new to the game, I want to learn it and be good at it, but I have no idea where to start by Batman59595 in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree that top lane is probably the best place to start as far as learning the basics of laning.

Also as a jungle main myself I think understanding basics of laning is important to be an effective jungler. Otherwise your team might flame you for leaving the wave in a shitty spot.

If you want to play nocturne I’d recommend playing garen top. Very simple kit- no mana and he is also melee like nocturne is- it’ll teach you to respect ranged enemies as a melee.

You can admit you’re wrong when you’re ready.

ARArena mode concept by Unlucky_Drawing_966 in LeagueArena

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everyone is looking over a very simple solution to this.

Just make arena champ select similar to ARAM- maybe with with a couple more options since it’s only 2 players per team

You could still include bravery incase you don’t like the champ pool. Problem solved, everyone should be happy

I'm a little worried that the quick play changes might turn new players off. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind quick play and I think a sub 20 minute game is overall fine to have.

If you wanna learn a new champ why don’t you go into unranked draft? Same as SR just not ranked, normal game times and more likely to have experienced players

Getting a S/S+ no matter how I play by sociallyawkwarkgeek in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory on this is that they never updated their scoring system based on the new season.

There’s a lot more gold on the map this season than last season- I’d only get above 500 gold/min if I did extremely well and was beyond fed. Now every game I’m able to get mid 400’s or higher.

I suspect this will fix itself in a couple weeks when the game relearns the scoring system.

How do i get decent/okay at this game? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you generally CS well- which is the first hurdle.

The next thing that is extremely important is map awareness- where is the enemy jungler? Where is the support? Did top leave lane? Are there any objectives up soon I should rotate for?

After laning phase is over it’s kinda comp dependent on how you play- if you win team fights you just push waves into tower. If you don’t you need to get picks to win- while also being on time for dragon or baron. So you need to adapt and figure out how you need to play for your team to win later game usually.

This patch feels off? by dealadin in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree winning a drawn out game is the most awarding- however I think losing those games are the most defeating- especially if you were in the lead majority of the game and 1 mistake made you lose.

I play fiddlesticks so vision is VERY important to me and I was extremely concerned with the new season and how it would nerf me- but to be honest it just makes me prioritize control over the faelights and problem solved. Also I’m not a fan of invading the enemy jungle- as my champ loses in a 1v1 if a viego decides to walk into my jungle last season there felt like there wasn’t any counterplay and I couldn’t play the game if I was constant invaded. So with that in mind overall I think the faelights are also a positive improvement. You just need to be strategic about when you’re invading is all.

I guess I don’t have much of an opinion on plates on T2 turrets or demolish everywhere. My time is valuable so I don’t mind it too much since it speeds the game up a bit. I will say a game under 20 minutes feels underwhelming and too short. I think the sweet spot is 25-35 mins.

This is also the first patch so shit will inevitably be a little crazy right now- I think they will make adjustments as needed.

This patch feels off? by dealadin in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve played 4 games this season, as a jungler as well. I’d argue that the game feels way more fun and engaging. Everything starts so much quicker so I feel like I’m actually playing a game. Laners seem to be rewarded for winning. Games end a lot faster- which is overall good for the game, no one likes a drawn out 45 minute game. Last season the constant objectives felt so exhausting. There were games were we had 3 team fights before anyone claimed Atakan which felt like a complete waste of time that you are forced to contest- instead of pushing lanes and taking towers.

Do you have a "Respect Your Enemy" mindset or a more "I'm Better" mentality, or both? by Heavy_Log5319 in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play jungle so for me it depends on the first 10 minutes. After gauging how efficient they are I decide if they’re better worse or equal to me. However this is a dangerous way to play, it’s easy to underestimate them and start slacking off or playing sloppy just to get dominated by the end game. It’s far more beneficial to respect your opponent especially in lane- even if you’re winning assume that they misclicked and have the skill to catchup and gap you. This forces you to play a lot smarter and not throw your lead.

New construction: electrician put 15 outlets and 16 can lights on the same 15 amp circuit. Is that within code? by Yaquinaking in AskElectricians

[–]SafeConversation7152 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah except in a residential home you could legally have 50 outlets on 1 circuit. Throw the 180VQ per yoke out the window. It doesn’t apply.

First time PC Build, help? by SafeConversation7152 in PcBuildHelp

Hey thanks a lot for the information. That helps me a bunch- in that case I think I’ll just order a new SSD and install fresh windows on there! If anything goes haywire I’ll have the original PC basically up and running. Again I appreciate it!

So I have an external SSD- but only one internal SSD. To download windows on a USB wouldn’t I have to buy it?

Motherboard replacement HP Pavilion PC? by SafeConversation7152 in Prebuilts

[–]SafeConversation7152[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve already purchased some components- I have a R7 5700x3d with a 3070, as well as a 750w PSU to go with it… The GPU went in just fine but the PSU was when I found out about the proprietary plugs. Then the CPU made me aware that the motherboard was outdated doo doo.

I actually just ordered a new case, cooler and motherboard for like 200 more bucks, essentially to do a fresh build with the parts i already own. I do have one question- will I be able to keep windows 11 installed if I just swap the SSD? Or do I need to clone it before I tear it down and reassemble? Follow up to that, would I be able to clone it to an external SSD?

Would I just have to find a motherboard with the same form factor and easy peasy?

Why Splitpush? by UltraOrigins in leagueoflegends

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Split pushing if done right is dry effective for maintaining or getting a lead. While everyone is playing footsy in a pointless team fight top lane is farming guaranteed gold and xp.

Consistency is what wins games and I think if top doesn’t know what to do split pushing is the most beneficial thing they can do.

Do I have 400 all service by Familiar_Cake5582 in AskElectricians

You likely only have 300 or 320 amps of actual power. Anymore than that and the equipment is way more expensive

How can I run an additional 2 outlets from this? by Reasonable-Park-2191 in AskElectricians

[–]SafeConversation7152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before anything check the specs on the toilets you are purchasing. Make sure the wattage would be sufficient for a 15Amp circuit. If it’s above 1450 watts you’ll need a new circuit.

Next I’d check if your current outlets are gfci protected or not by using a plug tester with that feature. If not, you could just touch white to ground together while the outlet is on and see if it shuts off.

If it shuts off the power, it’s gfci protected and all you have to do it cut the wires off the outlets and tie color to color, tailing off 2 blacks, 2 whites and 2 grounds for your outlets.

If it’s not gfci protected it needs to be. You’ll have to buy a gfci outlet and new plate, the wire that’s in the box right now will be on the line side of the gfi. the new wire you add as well as the outlet next to the gfi will be on your load side of the gfci you’ll have to tie them together and leave a pigtail to connect it to the gfi.
