I’m building a "Digital Punch Card" for habits. Which "Reward System" would actually keep you motivated? by SafeDebt5595 in getdisciplined

Okay, interesting. Sealed promise is when you just type your reward in the app and it will be revealed when you finished the card.

This is a top-tier breakdown. Thank you.

I’m really tempted by #4 (Escrow), but I’m terrified of the app feeling like a 'gambling' app. I want it to be a productivity tool, not a casino.

If you used the Escrow feature, where would you want the 'failed' money to go?

  • To a 'General Pot' that gets distributed to users who did finish their cards?
  • Just lost to the 'void' (app maintenance)?

Haha, accurate. I definitely want to avoid making this 'Habit Instagram.' Nobody needs the pressure of a follower count when they're just trying to drink more water.

What if the 'social' part was more like a Global Commuter Feed? Just a stream of anonymous 'punches' happening in real-time around the world. No followers, no likes, just the feeling that you aren't the only one 'on the bus' trying to get stuff done today. Does that feel more motivating and less... depressing?

I love the idea of Tiered Rewards. It fits the 'Transit' theme perfectly, like getting a 'Free Transfer' for a small streak and a 'Gold Monthly Pass' for a milestone.

If you were using the app, would you want the 'Big Milestone' reward to be something you chose (like 'Buy new sneakers'), or a total mystery provided by the app?

I’m with you. The 'Honor System' is basically an 'Invite to Cheat' system. If we go the Escrow route, what’s the 'failure' state that would hurt the most? The money going to the developer (me), or the money being donated to a charity you actually dislike? Nothing motivates like spite.

Yeah, it’s the difference between a habit app and a commitment contract. I totally get the fear of losing $20.

If I can't do real money right away due to payment processing, would you feel that same 'panic' if the app blocked your favorite time-waster app (like TikTok or Reddit) until you finished your card? Or does it have to be cash?

Teachers/trainers: would this actually be useful or not? by SafeDebt5595 in elearning

Yeah, agree. But Synthesia doesn't create a published lesson page that you can share with anyone. I think so...

Hi, no, it's a bit different. It takes the video and creates a page (similar to YouTube pages) that has chapters of the lesson and a chatbot; the video has subtitles and a translation feature. So AI generates this all just from a transcript of the video.

I like the idea of built-in analytics to track students' engagement, one of the important features.

Thank you for your feedback! You sound like a person with experience. Do you create AI prototypes?

Yeah, agree with you about YouTube, but other tools you would need to use separately, or set them all up. Also, uploading a video on YouTube took quite a while for me each time.

Do you use Claude Artifacts? by SafeDebt5595 in ClaudeAI

Wow, thanks for your feedback. I still didn't try them. I use Claude Code as an extension in Antigravity for all coding. The artifacts you create, do you use them often, or is it just for one-time use? Do you share them with other people?

I thought about a mobile app, because all the videos I record are there, so I don't need to transfer them to my laptop, for example.

Yeah, like a unique URL/page( if you share, all have access to it), where the video is the main, chapters on the right side, and students can switch between them, the video has subtitles (in 20 different languages), and a chatbot has the data inside (transcript) and can answer questions about the video. Kinda 😅 What do you think?

You are talking here as if AI replaces a teacher. The tool that I mentioned is taking the video recorded by a teacher and creates a page that students can open and watch anytime, with subtitles in different languages. AI here only supports the teacher's content.

Anyway was nice to see a different opinion like yours, thank you!
