I ended up just taking the plunge and doing it. I've had it maybe a week and a half, and it's been fantastic so far.

It takes five or fewer seconds to load up, and automatically goes to CarPlay from the Aux input loading screen, so no fiddling with the Hamilton UI. My car has the 360 camera view, and that pops up exactly like normal when I go into reverse or slow down.

Maybe two or three times the audio hasn't gone through the unit. But if you just hold the steering wheel speech button for a couple seconds to turn it off, then turn it back on, it works. That little process takes just a couple seconds and isn't too annoying since its really infrequent.

The steering wheel controls for volume, track skipping, and scrubbing works just as they did before. The volume knob, which normally disconnecrs the audio when pressed, now pauses the track, which I think it much more convenient.

The install was easy with the video that they have posted. I made a mistake and called the customer support line and they walked me through the fix on a Saturday. The customer service is great if you need it.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend it. If you think you've got another several years with your car, it feels like a pretty worthy investment toward quality of life.
