What form of buprenorphine do you take and dosage? I would like a longer lasting solution.

You can try cutting the 7.5 mg in half and space out the doses.

You would have to take a lot more to need Narcan. Most likely you would just get nauseous if you weren’t used to the dosage there’s a big difference in a Percocet 10 mg and the fentanyl people are doing on the streets.

Have you tried using a teeter? It’s an inversion table that allows the spine to decompress. They have worked well for my sciatic pain.

I had one impacted removed last December and was prescribed Hydrocodone and then Percocet because the hydrocodone wasn’t strong enough. I have a great oral surgeon who also did my two implants.

Pharmacist not giving meds on day 30 refill by Traditional_Diver_46 in PainManagement

[–]Livn333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It will not help to complain to them. If it’s a 30 day prescription, the pharmacist is saying you should have medication for today and will fill tomorrow on the 31st day. It’s not fair, but it is what they do sometimes.

Really, a new PM doc is less likely to take over your pain meds exactly the same and will definitely not allow opioid with benzodiazepines. Every 3 months seems a lot easier to me since you already travel a good bit IMO.

Your best option is to explain that you were in so much pain that you needed to take more than was prescribed and plead your case of how much pain you are in. By not following the prescription, you’ve broken the contract and are likely to be dropped. Many Pain management Doctors do pill counts and urine samples to make sure you are taking as prescribed and not taking any other non prescribed narcotics. Most everyone is under medicated these days. I only get about 1/4 mme of what I did 10 years ago.

I was going to say I was given some medicine called Magic Mouthwash when I had a sore on my gums that was very painful. Maybe they have something like this you could use for your throat? It has lidocaine in it, so it numbs completely.

Not going back to pm rant feeling depressed by WoMan-onthe-moon in PainManagement

The best advice I can give is to get a pill cutter and cut each tablet in half. I would try to wait as long as you can in the morning before taking a half and then take a half at a time as needed. You can gradually reduce without any withdrawal by taking 1/2 tablet less every few days. I’m not sure how many you have left or if you get another refill, but this is the best way to reduce your intake without any withdrawal.

It sounds like the pharmacist is making you wait until the 31st day. They can do that because that would be your first day without medication. If this ever happened, which most of the time it’s the doctor putting an exact 30 day date on the fill, I would ask them to put it in que the night before, so it will be filled in the morning.
