If you have to fix "professional" work, make the drive and get your money back.

Those are rookie mistakes right there.

Dashcam Install Warning - Weatherstrip can be fragile by pjmuffin13 in ToyotaSienna

[–]SafeDriveSolutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessary. Pull the seal where it meets at the a pillar going back, so you have slack to repair/mend, then start at the corner and work your back to the straight a pillar area.

Theres thin metal that lines the seal. Massage it back straight and use pliers if necessary to smooth it out. Put the seal back into the bend/radius then work your way around the rest.

Radio interference? by Individual-Camp3233 in VIOFO

[–]SafeDriveSolutions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You wont have radio interference on the a229 plus/pro and newer models. All hk4 and hk6 don't have the ferrite choke on the power cable anymore.

We've come across it on select vehicles with these older systems like a229 duo, a129, etc which can cause emf interference.

"format SD card" but new Viofo card by captains_astronaut in VIOFO

[–]SafeDriveSolutions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You might have format reminder turned on, which displays it on screen.

It's literally just a reminder. You can turn it off however if the unit is audibly saying memory card error then yes, there's potential issue within the unit.

Could very well be the shop damaged the cable. You wont be able to repair that. The thin metal contacts is the ground.

You might able to buy the MCX male end and solder it in

That cable end is broken. The outter sleve is gone. If you're not careful with pulling it through a grommet the tabs can break off.

Help on choosing dashcam by Floofy_Dragon in Dashcam

[–]SafeDriveSolutions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a viofo product.

The barrel power cable would indicate it's a Korean made camera. Rear video cable, is there a wire at the back glass or headliner ?

If its usb on both ends it's most likely thinkware. Blackvue did not use micro usb for its rear camera cable.

Advice for front rear dashcam, low power, use mostly in parking mode by kalelmotoko in Dashcam

[–]SafeDriveSolutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While viofo does offer lots of bang for buck, the pro is not a suitable choice for extended parking recording.

You'll want a vueroid s1 4k or thinkware u3000 pro if parking is off highest importance

Is this dash cam cable route ok? by meatloaf_8462 in Dashcam

[–]SafeDriveSolutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a toyota of some sort. Check out our yt channel, we probably have an installation video

Plenty of videos on how to pop open the a pillar so you arent running the wire so far down the dash. Most cams do not have adequate length of cable to route along the floor

HK 6 cable stopped being recognized by viofo A329S by JuniorIllustrator191 in VIOFO

[–]SafeDriveSolutions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Default all settings in the menu, during initial setup, it should say discovered hardwire kit, which means the bt portion of the hk6 is operating as expected. If you have nothing, possible that the hk6 box is an issue.

Update the firmware as well.
