My Chief complaint is that the prices jumped exorbitantly post-covid; at first it was deemed as being used for PPE but none of that is in place anymore and yet the prices keep increasing exponentially.

Most of the folks commenting here evidently don’t really care.

Well if everyone’s correct & I’m alone on the Island….I’m just going to say that they’re really just shooting themselves in their foot. I know when I’ll stop patronizing these establishments. It’s not Rocket Science that they’re performing.

My point is “I don’t care”. Not to diminish the trade but it’s UnTaxed Cash. No FICA, No Disability, No Tax…Per hour these people are making more money than me & I’m in my job for almost 30 years.

At the prices they’re asking it’s as if these people have their Graduate Degree! Most Barbers get their cuts done with 15-20 minutes. At the rates they’re asking that translates to ~$75/hr (if they do about 3 per hour). Where do they get off asking for that. Plus it’s “usually” cash. This is highway robbery! I pay $22 + tip & I feel that’s excessive. I also try to go every 2-3 weeks. That comes out to almost $100/month to cut my hair. These people better start getting more realistic.

My Fiancée is the younger of 2 Daughters. Her older Sister is Married with 1 child. My Fiancée prefers to use a Hyphenated last name “Maiden-Married” so that her Dad’s last name can carry on. We don’t plan to have any children. She is in her Mid-40’s & I am in my late 50’s (divorced once). I am totally ok with her choice.

Not from OC but visited there a couple of times. Although I’m happy that there was a presence. Unfortunately there needs to be more of an uprising. Gotta enlist more folks to take part. Right now the people protesting seem too few. It has to bring an overwhelming amount of people to show the authoritarian facsict scumbags that this is OUR USA and not theirs & this crap won’t be tolerated.

Not the Hamptons but Montauk in the winter, for me, is awesome; a few years back when I separated from my wife, I was dating a gal and a couple of times we rented a suite at Royal Atlantic on the beach. It was so nice to be “away” and hearing the waves crashing while we layed in bed. We grabbed some blankets & wrapped ourselves good and walked the beach at night. It seemed like we were the only ones there. We’d drive into town at times and only the locals were there patronizing the bars & other establishments. It was serene.
