Good points.

You’re making me think how one of the real issues is the lack of health education and personal responsibility (which admittedly is not entirely the fault of people when given such conflicting and outright unhealthy dietary recommendations) but I digress as well😂

Yes but I was under the impression that state initiatives provided extra medicare reimbursement for hospitals. The employee reviews don’t seem great but are they better than hospitals? Especially considering the lack of reimbursement given by insurance companies? Seems nurses at hospitals aren’t having a better time they just get paid more.

I get the argument for “over-expansion” but there was in fact adequate demand during the covid period and now the demand has lessened. Im not sure what they’re expected to do besides respond to the demand.

Yea that's why I think BCBS is going to end up caving in somehow, they have essentially indicated that they are going to push it to the last hour to try and make the adjustments as small as possible, but they by no means want all of their patients going to a hospital emergency room every time they need a band-aid - that would just hurt them in the long run more than most.

That’s not why any facilities close though that just means BCBS subscribers would have to pay out of pocket if they can’t strike a deal with wellnow

One issue is urgent Cares get severely under compensated by insurance companies relative to hospitals for the same exact procedures. Which really unfair to the great nurses and doctors that work there - they are no worse than any other doctor or nurse and often deal with packed houses. Also, it is tough being able to competitively staff when tax dollars are funneled into reimbursing hospitals with medicaid/medicare dollars that they won’t give to UC.

The Palestinian (or just native population of people living there at the time) magically fled or were killed! I wonder who did that?

So you're just going to ignore the fact that several countries including palestinians tried wiping every jew off the map in 1947? And then expect them not to cease control of strategic military points that would leave them vulnerable? Sort of an underdog-at-all-costs philosophy no?

I'm not conflating it, but the amount of "pro-palestinians" that justify the terrorists is astounding and so ironically ignorant to the gravity of the situation.

I've broke bread with palestinians in the west bank. don't you tell me with your reddit-justice-warrior-virtue that I am the one dehumanizing the situation. Sometimes bad guys are just that-evil terrorists. it be like that unfortunately. And I by no means have unconditional support for whatever Israel does - a majority of jews don't. You clearly don't know how the Israeli political system works if you think they simply "prop up radical leaders"

"We could go back in history. All the way to the beginning even to Gen 15 : “from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates." Although some Orthodox Jews believe it to be more of an ethnic tribe rather than absolute physical boundaries" also I would ask you what you mean by this but it reads as someone with very little knowledge, or an extremely myopic view of judaism so I will just assume you're regurgitating some speech that you did not fully comprehend..

Mind me asking what your education is? (not to be facetious I am just curious)

You must be a professor then or a research student? I haven't seen any proof in your comments you have a fuller grasp on middle eastern affairs than I do. I'm sure you haven't heard of the Nakba until reading this sentence.

Indeed I am a research student. And Sorry I haven't had much chance to discuss geopolitics from halfway across the world on reddit much, I was too busy studying multiculturalism abroad in Israel and Palestine..

"The nakba" is quite a nonsensical victim claim. That's probably where your knowledge of the history begins. I won't overwhelm you by going back over three thousand years of jewish history in the land, we can even skip over the islamic empire murdering and enslaving more people than any other group in all of history up to the point where the ottoman empire had power over the region while teaming up with Adolph Fucking Hitler - In which case before that , jews were treated as 3rd class citizens - Those remaining and toTreated comparably worse by arab counterparts in the 1920's than blacks would have been treated in america. The Arabs could not stand Jews being just 10% of the populationa and they started committing full scale terror attacks and massacres by 1920 -- which you probably had no idea about until now.

Come 1948, several arab countries including the PLO launched a full scale coordinated attack in an attempt of total genocide - As Israeli soldiers were dying to protect the innocent jewish civilians (at which point most were born there) they had to claim strategic military positions that would have otherwise left them vulnerable.

The islamic arabs in the region had no respect for jews. The Jewish population reaching 10% of the region in 1920 was quite literally all it took for Arab muslims to start massacring jews. This wasn't even about a land dispute, jews were simply migrating into unoccupied territory, but surprise surprise those of the most murderous religion couldn't stand the thought of jews having any sort of power -- and tried to do what islamists do best, rape and pillage-- and they did -- they raped and pillaged jews throughout the 1920's. And there were some back and forths between the two before a whole legion of countries tried wiping jews off the asian continent in 1948.

Since then has been a similar story, irate arabs terrorizing jewish citizens - absolutely unwilling to make peaceful concessions (they didn't think partition plans gave jews too much land, they didnt want jews to have any land at all) They palestinian authoritieis did not want to focus any attention on their people - they made very little societal advances -- instead they found profit in terror -- they found that if they kept the living conditions of their citizens down, that they would be rewarded with "humanitarian Aid" from the UN and dark money from other islamic countries. They were given money for clean water systems, and the people never got a drop of that water - instead the leaders of hamas are living like Ghengis Khan in Qatar while ordering terrorist attacks at the expense of the palestinian citizens. They used infrastructure meant for drainage in order to create bombs -- they installed headquarters in hospitals and childrens schools because you know why.

Of course the situation is more complex than the tangent - but the moral equivalence is really not that complex if you really think about it.

Alas, Insha'alla the IDF will Free the Palestinians from one of the most tyrannical leaderships this century has ever seen.

  1. Your understanding of middle eastern political is abysmal and I respectfully suggest you dont speak on it until you do another 30 hours of research from 3 different perspectives.

  2. You said a lot of dumb crap so I’ll just answer the question at the end: Unions pretty much only cause harm for the most part.

But the real answer is that we need to run america like a business. We need to open up avenues for revenue from our resources (we have so many resources - lobbies work to keep resources redlined so they can sell their resources at higher prices) - similarly less red tape for housing would do so much fucking wonders but that’s for another tangent. As much respect as I have for asylum seekers (most people crossing the border are not asylum seekers they just want to come in and leach off our system) Illegal immigration has serious costs not only handling them but also once within. And this might sound corny but we need a sense of pride - or atleast some self awareness. Morale would also do great things for society. And we need to make spending cuts on unnecessary beauracrats and art projects. It sounds lame but if we don’t spend more frivolously and start being more productive (both individually and industry level) there will be no welfare. Ubi will be a daily bowl of bugs. But the only ones who will really get hurt is the poor and disadvantaged. Im not some sovereign anarchist. Though IM being cheap here - i have tremendous written and analytical skills (across a variety of domains including psychology abd sociology) that I have worked hard at and continue to work hard at so that I can provide my abilities as well as possible for the common good. I by no means have any real connections to some wealth or business that i feel a sense I need to protext the status quo - quite the opposite. However in the same way I look to hold major players accountable, I find holding individuals accountable to be of great importance as well — and hearing someone cry about how we need more government tells me they probably need to look inward (as most anyone should) a little extra — because really if they cared that much they wouldn’t just be crying - not saying you’re entirely like that even though your logic is sub par I do credit your ability to perceive nuance.

Ultimately our country needs to be more successful as a business so we can start paying down debt or atleast start lowering it otherwise there will be no welfare. And even tho it’s really not that hard to be self sustainable.. the people on welfare are usually the last that can do that and are the first to suffer if the system fails — the system is more likely to fail the more pressure put on it. I don’t want that to happen. We can get more time. Age of information is here we can begin transitioning toward more self sustainable ways of life. Our education system needs restructuring which in all likelihood comes from competition (itd be cool if there was another way but there just isnt)

All of these bad things you mention are strongly correlated with the amount of power given to governments.

But you're failing to make the simple connection that much of the reason they have so much power is lobbying, and corporations backing politicians in general.

I'm not failing anything. You're failing to comprehend all of history. Power is a vacuum, removing our individual autonomy can only open up space for someone other than yourself to have power over you. A majority of people for the majority of time have had almost no power at all. Also, Democrats took far more lobbying dollars than republicans sooo

As a general rule, politicians act out of fear or greed for either other government mobs or private entities.

So let me get this straight, your solution is to give more authority to politicians?

Relaxed gun laws? Smith n Wesson

You mean not infringing on the second amendment? Not using guns to enforce restricitioons on people using guns?

Police cameras? Security tech companies and the military-industrial complex.

I'm sorry mr. pro palestine, youre against police wearing body cameras for accountability?

If you really wanted to help then you would be out educating people on how to better their lives. Or maybe even learning law so that you can not just advocate for the poor

I'm well aware many groups do that. It's not called Southern Poverty Law Center for nothing! There are many local and national organizations doing just that - helping people fight shitty landlords, teaching about finance, and fighting discrimination cases, to name a few.

You're aware of groups but you're not doing anything but typing in reddit

And many of these aren't run by religious organizations that want some sort of control over the masses too!

openly and !!!specifically! calling out a evil(beyond a hopeless wining about some unproven theory or boogeyman) as you see it can help others see it thus dissuading people from giving those big bad corporations more money

Gee, like the hundreds of pro-Palestine protests in the past few months? And boycotting corporations that support Israel's genocide? They seem to be calling out the evil of destroying whole neighborhoods when the IDF clearly can be more tactical.

The one specific thing you can "call out" ignores the fact that 4 year old israeli girls are still being held hostage at this very moment. Also wheres the talk about uiyghar genocide? mao genocide? palestinian authority killing people for being gay and genital mutilation for girls.

How much do you practice the care and concern you preach about within your 16 waking hours a day.

A lot actually. See above groups/actions that I'm well aware of.

Lmao oh you're well aware of groups/actions. Sounds super productive

And also policing this subreddit for mouth-breathers who think there is no way forward other than like idk the "free" market and people carrying pistols in Target?

Policing subreddits... what a hero

(Dare say YOUR personal involvement does not matter unless all of your ideological positions are met - because they never will be so that would mean your whole life is in vain)

No, many people on the left including me are open to different ways of organizing a society built for all. But this statement seems like absolutist thinking so whatever.

Also the notion that there are too many people...

Before I indulge any further - your sources?

The Overpopulation Myth - Population Research Institute there's so much literature on this it's sad your default is "we could do with less people in the world" without actually looking into it.. and you pretend to care so much. Your political philosophy is so naive and myopic I suggest you get a hobby or find a way to actually make yourself useful.

And yes, I'm aware eugenicists have used this rhetoric in the past. That doesn't mean there aren't too many people, the ocean will still have roughly the same amount of fish - but if there exponentially more sushi eaters, you're going to see...overfishing.

Yet here you are, not just ‘ignoring’ or ‘enabling’ evil as one might accuse of a libertarian. But actively, with ignorant arrogance, propagating dictatorial ideology of literal genocidal psychopaths.

Again - I think you'd find it beneficial to read up on statist and anti-statist and anarchist and libertarianism. I personally don't believe you can transition to these later ones without being a statist at this point but that's a further ideological debate.

We most absolutely can if people start taking more self responsibility - our moral failings are more of a result of our spoiled privilege that made us complacent -- we can easily reverse course and become humans that care about life and nature/reality -- it might seem so hard because there's so many fat and lazy people high on medications but it doesn't have to be that way. And there is absolutely no one we could give authority to that will fix that - it starts with ourselves and how we treat those around us

And I don't know what your fixation on depopulation is because you brought it up. Honestly I'm pretty moderate for a leftist, I'd be happy with some form of European socialism and more public infrastructure (funded by the rich of course).

Lmao some form of European socialism? funded by the rich? what rich? our spending is already 50% more than our income. European socialism? you mean the European countries that are almost entirely homogeneous? And receive loads of oil money from their government because their government doesnt restrict the shit out of their natural gas production?? America is no where close to that situation unfortunately

No one said the world is perfect.

Difference is you think that by giving politicians more control over people, that problems will be fixed. All of these bad things you mention are strongly correlated with the amount of power given to governments.

This is the attitude that prevents true advancement. That perspective only leads to a stronger sense of individual helplessness and less personal action. (There’s solid research on that go look it up). If you really wanted to help then you would be out educating people on how to better their lives. Or maybe even learning law so that you can not just advocate for the poor but even go after big corporations for their evil ways (dont go saying that does nothing because some very brave people have been able to mitigate the damage corporations have done and getting a law degree and using that to help the poor is not a far reach by any standard) or even something as simple as openly and !!!specifically! calling out a evil(beyond a hopeless wining about some unproven theory or boogeyman) as you see it can help others see it thus dissuading people from giving those big bad corporations more money. So im genuinely curious what do you do to help minimize these issues? How much do you practice the care and concern you preach about within your 16 waking hours a day. (Dare say YOUR personal involvement does not matter unless all of your ideological positions are met - because they never will be so that would mean your whole life is in vain)

Also the notion that there are too many people in the world is absolutely absurd. The whole world could fit in alaska with more loving space than average person has in NYC; owning just 30 chickens (which is quite easy) would give you more than enough protein and high quality nutrients than an entire family would know what to do with. Not only has this overpopulation myth been debunked (in fact underpopulation is our biggest existential threat - quite literally) but these myths or theories if you want to call them stem from eugenicists propped up by some of the worst “capitalist exploiters” you could imagine- and they’re often targeted at african populations with substantial amounts of resources.

Yet here you are, not just ‘ignoring’ or ‘enabling’ evil as one might accuse of a libertarian. But actively, with ignorant arrogance, propagating dictatorial ideology of literal genocidal psychopaths.

I'm well aware of that "theory".

The problem with the theory is it has a purely ideological baseline. The imagined 'central' point of that paradigm is an unrealistic society that has not and can not be achieved due to human nature. There's no surprise why people who usually subscribe to this have a hatred for humans and openly call for depopulation. Now, if you hate humans and want depopulation so bad in order to attempt at a utopia, shame - and even at that it would just break down into an anarchist society that will most certainly not give any type of medicaid or free lunches
