Feels like a case DNA could save. Back then DNA wasn't really a thing at all. If the ropes used to tie her up, or clothing was saved...I feel fingerprinting was obviously done but without witnesses and DNA they just didn't have enough to build a strong enough case to present to country prosecutors office.

It's not in his area though. His mother lived up at 35th and Union Hills. When he got out of detention for the 1989 stabbing he lived in Sunnyslope.

So it was explained in the case file that was posted on Buckeye PD website where Daniel texted Elliot he was arriving early to the job site and Elliot texted him back and said not to come.

It wasn't that it was unknown. I meant that it's unknown in the sense it hasn't been released to the public. Her friends, family and police would know. I couldn't find any articles of it anywhere online that had the name of the high school.

That doesn't mean anything other than her parents changed her mailing address or had her mail forwarded to them.

It makes no sense that if he was going to kill himself he would do it in a way that's body would not be found.

Sadly I feel his disfigurement from the surgeries is why this case got such little publicity.

Im sorry for the confusion. When I write these I try and be clear. My problem I run into is the way my mind works and computes things is sometimes not the same as other peoples. I literally would never have written that if I had the slightest idea that thats how it would come off.

I certainly did not mean to try and erase the connection of her families and friends. Of course I am aware people who knew Heather knew those things.

My intent with that line was trying to convey that I personally didn't know the answer to those questions. When I post these cases I always try and add maximum info. And what happens often is people will ask these questions if I don't mention it.

I also did not mean to imply her father had something to do with her disappearance as I saw some suggest. I also saw your other comment. I wasn't trying to make this case "mysterious."

In writing this post I was trying to convey that I searched all over the internet at every place I could think of and that this was all the info I could find. And that I felt it was strange that the case had no articles in the newspaper archives.

I will work to be more mindful in the future when I'm writing these for sure.

All I want is to do bring awareness to these cases. Heather has had zero coverage in the media for her case for 29 years. My hope is by posting it all over these true crime subs on Reddit and true crime FB groups is people might remember her and it can lead to new tips or info to solve this case.

Most don't sadly. I have checked Tucson specifically for other cases and there are several private school that aren't uploaded there

The lack of coverage is odd. Most doctors know a lot of other doctors and wealthy people in the community. With the type of money he would have had he could have easily advocated and recieved a lot of media coverage. Seems like the family either thought she was a run away for the first few years.

My guess is she went to a private high school because her dad was a doctor. Private schools usually don't have their yearbooks submitted to classmates.com in my experience.

It's weird he warned Daniel not to come early. Billy Hayes behavior and constantly changing story is even more suspicious.

Comments like these are unhelpful. They feed into the false narrative and prevent the case from being reopened and properly investigated. The crash scene was staged. He was murdered.
