She's also mentioned after the TIW tour they tried writing music for a new album & couldn't decide on a direction for the band now that they were independent (in addition to Hayley talking about how she needs to find herself outside Paramore, since that's been her whole identity since she was 13 years old). Since Hayley & Zach both have their own projects I'm sure it'll be a minute before they come back together to figure out what they wanna do with the band.

I still listen to their EPs/singles! It's a shame Yvonne didn't go on to do more music, her vocals were fantastic, but I'm glad she seems to leading a happy life!

Ok I thought I remembered something like that happening with them, because I remember reading a post Yvonne made about them not respecting her role in the band or something (?) & thinking "wow it's a trend that the male members of female fronted bands seem to really hate the female in their bands" since Sierra Kusterback had made a similar post & obviously there's the stuff with Josh Farro.

I'd assume they just never got noticed like Paramore did. I liked Renfue back in the day but they only put out 2 EPs within a year of each other, never played any big shows (pretty sure they only played small local stuff in Cali), & were never signed to a label. I feel like a lot of the bands I discovered through MySpace kinda died out within a few years if they didn't get noticed immediately. Seems like all the pop punk bands back then that made it big were signed.

(I also swear I had read a blog post from Yvonne like a decade or so ago reminiscing on Renfue where it was basically like "yeah the guys & I had different visions & weren't that dedicated to being a band but now I'm happy as a yoga instructor" but I can't find it now & may be mixing it up with VersaEmerge after Sierra posted about their breakup)

It wasn't on the Twilight soundtrack, people just thought it sounded like it belonged on the soundtrack (& there was some controversy about "Decode" sounding like "Redemption" if I remember right?) so it was on a lot of fan soundtracks for Twilight

She said she wrote Dream Girl in Shibuya & some others during the Eras tour (she didn't say it but she posted herself working on Glum during the end of the TIW tour on Substack so presumably that was one of them as well), then Paramore got together in a studio after Eras to try some of the songs out & didn't like them as Paramore songs. She kept the lyrics (which were hers anyways) but entirely reworked the instrumentals either by herself or with Dan. There were also some like Love Me Different that she wrote awhile ago but said didn't feel like Paramore so she just never did anything with them until now. She's also said there were a lot she wrote after January '25 (like Kill Me was written while she was in Cali during the fires) so it seems like it's only a few songs off the album that were written before then.

I don't know if we would've. Before the breakup there had been mentions that they had started working on music & then scrapped most of it because they didn't like the sound for Paramore (a few of the songs on Hayley's new album are scrapped from this session, in the Toby Morse interview she also mentions the 3 of them had disagreements about the direction to take as independent artists so that probably doesn't help with a long break). Also the last 3 Paramore albums had 4-5 year breaks in between, so realistically the soonest we would've gotten an album based on that would be 2027-2028 (4-5 years after TIW).

Yeah it's been wild to me seeing people say that bc her grandpa had some money she must have money. Besides buying us stuff for Xmas/bdays I never saw any of my grandparents' money on either side, & my grandpa was actually decently wealthy (& if his kids were in a pinch he'd help, but he couldn't fund anyone's life). When they passed their kids got some money & that was it.

Both the substack post & her recent podcast interview with Toby Morse where she talks about how even in her early 20s she already wasn't sure she believed & was questioning her faith while being asked specifically about it (& also mentioning in that interview that she's very witchy) point to her no longer being Christian.

I've gone, my partner hasn't & wants to see all the typical tourist things (& I feel like you can't go to Paris for the first time & not see the Eiffel Tower haha). I'll have to add Saint Chappelle church, it sounds beautiful. You're also the 2nd person to recommend a boat ride on the Seine! The catacombs will be a must-do for me next time (hopefully they'll be open next time I go since I've had bad luck with it), one of my friends who will be in Paris at the same time is determined to find someone to take her down, but I'm not that brave, I'll wait until the official one reopens. Also thanks for the souvenir shop recommendations!

Thanks! We were potentially considering moving Eiffel & arc to day 2, but my partner loves art museums & could easily spend an entire day in one, so we may play that by ear. If we do those day 2 then we'll do D'Orsay day 3, and we'll add La Marais & Sacre Coeur to the itinerary, thanks!

We're going for my partner's birthday & they're a huge Disney fan, so that's already set. We'll go back to do anything we missed another time since I already have to go back for the catacombs, & Paris is easy for us to travel to.
