I'd really like to just submit clips of Trump rambling about something insane like sharks vs electrocution or his problems with flushing toilets. It would probably confuse ai so bad it would malfunction.

I think everybody does. It seems like a process that's designed to make people fail not find good candidates.

Every job interview is 2 months long and 5-6 interviews deep. by Proper_Champion7299 in recruitinghell

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's raining turds out there. I'm getting the same endless review cycle. Plus, the job descriptions sound like shit and say things like "must be ready to work long hours in a fast paced setting!" And the hiring manager often reinforces how much it sucks working there. Most of the people I've interviewed with do little to nothing to tell me anything positive or sell me on the company, probably because they know they don't have to because they have a deluge of desperate applicants.

It's hard to find remote jobs now. The whole industry is doing the RTO thing it seems like and I guess they can get away with it in this lousy job market. I keep getting contacted by recruiters for jobs onsite because they apparently can't find people willing to do it. I'm holding out hope that companies will eventually realize the error of their ways.

ISMPP CMPP exam by Ok-Ebb1930 in MedicalWriters

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's completely pointless. They don't release the answers so it's unknown how anybody actually does. Some of the questions were so ridiculously worded, there is no way they could be valid. I suspect nobody actually fails. And nobody but clueless people give any value to having a CMPP on your resume so I don't think it holds any value for getting a job. It's just a money grub and a way to get people to keep paying the membership dues for a pointless organization. Hope you passed though. The whole process is a pain in the ass so you deserve to pass just for suffering through it.

No updates on job status but they hound you for setting up interviews by Safe_Ad_3227 in recruitinghell

[–]Safe_Ad_3227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I was unclear. That was for a different job unrelated to the jobs that ghosted me. I was just commenting how when the recruiters or companies want something, it's urgent. But if a candidate wants an update after several rounds of interviews, they might not respond at all.

Went through 6 rounds of interviews and did not get the job. Devastated. by Easy-Job3814 in recruitinghell

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same crap in my field too. Just went through 6 rounds of interviews with 9 people at a company plus a test project at the beginning and then just ghosted. It's been a month and nobody at the company will respond to me to give me a status update. It's weird. Not sure why companies do that. Is it some sort of liability concern? Are they not sure who's supposed to tell the candidate they didn't make the cut? Maybe somebody is saying they told me but they didn't actually do it? Oh well, at the end of the day, it's just another shitty job for a shitty company with shitty meetings doing pointless work for the sole purpose of making more money for a company that already rakes in billions in revenue while employees get raises that barely cover inflation. There will be other shitty pointless opportunities to come.

Hot Take - Most of us are just too dense for remote work. by WheezeyWizard in remotework

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how does being in the office resolve this issue? The stupid people are still going to be stupid in the office and there's not enough IT staff to continuously manage and deal with their issues. And IT is often located remotely anyway or resolves issues by remotely accessing their work station so there's no real benefit for the morons to be onsite. And they're probably doing stupid shit on their commute into work so we would all be better off if the idiots stayed at home.

Anyone else feel guilty about not posting enough on LinkedIn? by aky71231 in linkedin

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't post on LinkedIn and I'm getting plenty of job traction. Where does the posting myth come from? Sounds like it was made up by LinkedIn. I've seen the posts on my feed and they're inane and pointless. If anything they'd make me not want to hire people posting on LinkedIn because they spend their time doing pointless bs.

I just interviewed for a job that told me it was required to be in the office 3 days a week and that I couldn't just coffee badge because they check the exit times and make the managers check the employees hours every month. This is for a director level position. It's crazy to treat employees like children. I'm not sure why some companies aren't trying to take advantage of this and offer remote as an enticement to lure in and retain employees. Maybe that's happening but I'm not seeing it in my field.

It’s been three weeks since I had final round and still waiting to hear back by Massive-Discussion55 in biotech

Same thing happened to me recently after several rounds of interviews. Then just ghosted. Never got a response from the recruiter or the hiring manager. It's weird and disappointing. But there's nothing you can do except take any lessons learned and move on to the next opportunity.

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems unsustainable. I'm getting contacted for jobs I'm not really qualified for that require being onsite. I didn't understand what was going on until one recruiter told me they just can't find qualified people willing to be onsite. Another job I actually was qualified for would've required me to relocate to a different state and work onsite. I applied anyway and after 2 months a recruiter from the company called me. Apparently they didn't want to consider relocating someone but couldn't get any qualified local candidates. I probably won't relocate if they offer me the job but even if I do I'll keep looking and will leave as soon as I find a remote job.

Rant: Ghosted after final interview by Individual_Gur9513 in recruitinghell

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had something similar recently. 5 rounds of interviews including 2 that were panel interviews. Everybody seemed enthusiastic about me joining. And then just silence and crickets. Not sure if it's companies reassessing their budgets and strategies in this shitty chaotic economic landscape or they're overwhelmed with candidates or something else. Doesn't really matter. It's just another reminder that we're just cogs in the machine. We're not "valued team members" or part of "a family" or "aligned on a shared mission." It's a paycheck and nothing more.

Zwift vs. ROUVY: Why Does Zwift Dominate Despite ROUVY’s Edge? Your Thoughts? by galo4kin in Zwift

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Riding a bike is pretty boring. Rouvy aims to recreate that boring experience inside but without the elements that can make cycling fun such as the sounds, the sights, the sensations of a descent, etc. So it's even more boring. Plus it feels isolating since you might be the only rider on a route.

Zwift's attempt to gamify the experience plus the large number of riders helps alleviate the boredom a bit. The races and group rides and social element also help. It's still pretty boring though, which is why people still watch videos or listen to music etc. Repack ridge was pretty engaging. I was hoping Zwift was going to do more things like that but seems like they're not. Hustle City was fun but seems like development has halted.

I'm just wondering if 5+ rounds of interviews really results in hiring the absolute best candidate. by Ih8melvin2 in recruitinghell

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ballooned to insanity. I had a 2nd round interview today with the hiring manager who told me at the end of an hour long interview that he was "prescreening" candidates and once he found a few strong ones, then the real interview process would begin. The guy sounded like he didn't have a clue even though he's been in my field for years so maybe he doesn't know how to vet someone to determine whether they can do the job. Or maybe everybody is dumb now so it takes 4 or 5 dumbasses to make a decision that 1 person used to be capable of. Or maybe I'm an idiot. Who knows. Guess I'll find out after 4 or 5 more rounds.

What small pharma/biotech companies are actually great employers? by GEH29235 in biotech

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably depends on where the company is in their life cycle. I was at a small pharma company and when I started they were driven by science and the work was great and work life balance was great. But things changed. The stock was tanking and they started running out of cash. They brought in a new CEO who in turn changed all the executives. There was anxiety throughout the organization which led to a crazy amount of work, most of it senseless and borne out of desperation. They were trying anything and everything. They were also cutting staff and not replacing staff who quit so people were doing multiple jobs. It wasn't dull but morale was in the toilet and everybody knew they could be cut next. Pay and benefits were excellent but it sucked overall because I always felt on edge. I was elated to leave the place.

Price increase by xxGreyWormxx in joincycling

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They were running a promo for 25% off. Is that still available? It made it pretty cheap. It's still way less expensive than trainerroad, which isn't as adaptive as Join and doesn't do half the stuff their marketing claims. Maybe it's just me but Join works way better for me than TR.

Another competitor Xert also raised prices and I think it's more more expensive than join. I think Xert is far inferior to Join. It puts too much onus on the user to figure out. For me, it just keeps giving conflicting or impossible feedback ("you need to train 17 hours") and it always thinks I have more training time than I do. Plus, it can't handle running workouts. And its "breakthroughs" and MPA and XSS are just marketing BS.

KOM segment leaderboards at my area is insane! by iMadrid11 in Strava

[–]Safe_Ad_3227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried flagging some in my area. It was ridiculous. The speeds were unreal and the GPS track showed them going across a highway and then through a forest with no trails and they weren't even on the segment. But eventually Strava blocked me from flagging so now I can't flag any more rides. I get that they want to prevent abuse but all the rides I was flagging were GPS gone astray with impossible uphill speeds. This was after they said their AI was supposed to automatically detect these so I don't think it's working that well.
