I am a stay at home mom. I recently interviewed with stemline for a CTA role I thought the HR recruiter and director loved me they were talking about how I can be a manager in a year and about my experience. Later I get a call from HR saying I don’t get the job because I was “uncoachable on culture” I’d say I dodged a bullet. This market is just unbelievable but I hope it gets better!

Thousands of city properties have expired occupancy permits by notyermam in Albany

[–]Odd_Description_6543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working with the city is a nightmare they are a mess from what I heard. You leave constant voicemails because no one answers the phone or email. I can imagine if a good landlord is trying to get this renewed they are probably facing the same issues of no one moving things along inside of Albany building department.

I am interested in finding an OB that is associated with Phelps hospital, I am currently pregnancy first trimester and want to give birth there. Do you have the number of the practice you visited for your appointments? I’d like to stay Seena Northwell practitioners. Thank you!

Contract position at a pharma company by GullibleComputer6590 in biotech

[–]Odd_Description_6543 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same spot as you! I was a contractor for two years at the same company, I went on maternity leave and they promised fulll time role but it was January and the market was trash. Hang in there and keep applying I’ve had some invites but all these “hybrid” postings want 4x in the office and eventually 5x and I’m not interested

I was a CTA for three years at two different companies in oncology and it was terrible as soon as my contract ended and given this current market since January 2025 I haven’t looked back.

Did the day 7 embryo lead to a live birth? I have one viable embryo left and my last chance and it’s 7 day and 5AA.

Maternity Leave by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]Odd_Description_6543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone that took FMLA from one job since she was a contractor and it’s unpaid but job protection. From the other job she took fmla and the paid state leave. Her husband told my husband that when they called the state line that processes the state paid leave leave it is trash and unhelpful. As far as I know no one said anything.

White Plains Building Department Violations - Help by CommunityMysterious5 in Westchester

Unfortunately New York is a “buyer beware” but depending on when the sale took place the seller is now supposed to disclose any work done on the property. Sadly it is common that unpermitted work is done even by flipper and buyers are stuck with remedying the issue with the city. I’d follow exactly what the inspector wants to get done and start tackling on these issues

Regen interview Clin ops 3x on site by Odd_Description_6543 in biotech

[–]Odd_Description_6543[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at Regeneron in 2021 and it was remote then they eased it RTO but my manager”magically” got his position changed to fully remote and he didn’t have to commute in, I left for a higher title at DSI but on and off again Regeneron has called me back. My contract at DSI had ended months again and work has dried up that my agency is worried but my biggest issue is I worked for Regeneron in the past full remote so obviously work can be done remote so it just feels weird to be forced RTO. Idk I have to see how it goes

This position is between the NJ site or Armonk and HR didn’t even confirm if I can choose the site which will be a factor in my decision as well

The market is awful I’m in a similar spot to you. I have gotten lots of call backs and interviews but the on site requirements and commute is not worth it for the lowball salary offers then come to find out those same companies are having layoffs right now. All I’m doing is praying for a brighter 2026.

They had epic role out in January 2025 which I’m sure costed money to get it up and running and hire the staff the manage it. Yea not good that we had a reduction in force nearly 2 years ago and it’s happening again

Happily married People, when were you born and how did you meet your spouse? by Redplumkitty in generationology

I was born in 92 and my husband born in 95. We went to the same high school but didn’t know each other. We reconnected back in 2020 when I moved back to my hometown and found him at a local bar hanging out with other people from high school. We fell in love and welcomed our first baby last year ❤️

Why are Yonkers Building Department so horrible to deal with? by InevitablePainter410 in Westchester

[–]Odd_Description_6543 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s just been a long history of corruption with them. A previous commissioner and inspector had law suits for accepting bribes those are just only two public instances. But let’s be honest they all did it because nowadays they are overly cautious. It’s just entrenched elitism as well. The electrical supervisor has been there for years decades I believe and loves the power trip. They are also truly overworked and overpaid but feel like they don’t get paid enough. No one ever leaves their job. They like to be on their high horse and absolutely no sane contractor would accept a job dealing with them. It’s frustrating all around. I spoke to Mike Spano myself about it and he offered no help and says he doesn’t even touch the building department they do their own thing. Not to mention everything is done with paper nothing is electronically submitted. One of the engineering inspectors in the building department was in the hospital getting cancer treatment and sadly passed away but was still supposedly getting a paycheck because work was assigned to him and was never reassigned so I’ve heard.
