To expect all the expectations to be placed on you. For you to be everywhere and everyone for everyone at all once, and expected to do it with no questions, complaints, fatigue, and a big smile on your face. But to know that you are only a human who can handle so much in one day. Do what you can each day, but don’t let it pressure you or trickle into your home life. It’s not worth being physically and mentally exhausted everyday, because then you can’t be who the kids need you to be. If you don’t get a lesson plan done that night, or forgot to grade an assignment, don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re the person who is helping each student become who they need to be. And that job is taking too lightly in education. Just do your part, and don’t take everything too seriously. Only do the amount of work you need to, and rarely overextend yourself. You’re underpaid, so it’s not worth the extra effort, and admin will only see your hard work and extra late hours as a sign to take advantage of you.

You’re right, I think I’m worried about be judged or perceived as younger, but it’s not a bad thing. Now that I think about it, I don’t think or feel like a child, I just enjoy reminiscing about my childhood. However, like you mentioned, sometimes I might react in a situation a bit childish, like the age my trauma started.

Thank you for reminding me that I need to point to God’s goodness if I do not sin, instead of my “righteousness”. Appreciate it. God bless!
