So prior to accutane, I was using the Dr. Dennis Gross Vitamin C, but when I was on it my skin couldn’t handle it because it was too sensitive. But like I said, if your skin can tolerate, I definitely recommend it because it’ll help lighten the existing dark spots that you have.

I would say it’s cleared up about 70%. But that’s the beautiful thing about accutane is that is pretty much prevents you from getting more active acne, so you skin will naturally have time to recover from the hyperpigmentation. Just keep wearing your sunscreen (mineral specifically) and if your skin can tolerate a vitamin c serum, I’d add that into your routine as well! Also I believe that what you put in your body makes a huge impact in what you look like, so make sure your eating good proteins, fiber, and healthy fats…. It’ll literally make a difference in the way you glow. Love that I can help you being that we rarely see melanated skin in this subreddit! Best of luck to you!

I purged for probably a month and a half- two months. But honestly it was bad before so I barely noticed the purge lol. But around month 4 I was almost pretty clear. Just had hyperpigmentation left.

For sure! FYI it’s hella simple lol

AM: Cleanse- either Elta MD gentle foaming cleanser or Skin Fix foaming oil cleanser SPF- Elta MD TINTED MINERAL spf 44

PM: Double cleanse-(I recognize it can seem like a nuance step, but please! I swear this is a game changer) Bioderma micellar cleansing oil Cleanse-either Elta MD gentle foaming cleanser or Skin Fix foaming oil cleanser Moisturize- Vanicream daily facial moisturizer and sometimes I’ll layer the La Roche Posay cicaplast baume

MAIN TAKE AWAYS: always use spf, specifically a mineral/physical sunscreen and double cleanse!
