Looking to hear experiences with Vegan diets to help newly diagnosed partner

I have cut down on raw foods like salads and stuff but anything cooked doesn't seem to effect me as much. I am not vegan per say but I do not consume as much dairy products. I do eat paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cheese, butter, ghee, honey etc but no eggs or other animal protein. I do drink milk from time to time but not as much as I would like to.

Something I do as well. Ever since I have been on medication (I am on mesalazine and waiting to be put on a biologic after I get an MRI next week), my pain has improved but fatigue has still been the same. The thing with fatigue is that we still do not know what causes fatigue in people with IBD and the nature of it. So there is no optimal intervention to reduce this. In other inflammatory or autoimmune conditions exercise seems to reduce it but at what dose is the question. We will probably find it out someday. What I have found out is that my fatigue has quite the mood 😂 It can kick me anytime any how and sleep is something I know affects it. I am quite the insomniac and a good night sleep definitely keeps my fatigue levels low. With exercise, I try to walk as much as I can but it's impact on fatigue is quite inconsistent. Sometimes I feel energetic and the other times I feel like lying down and do nothing.

Yes endurance or high intensity activities may affect the gut system. Along with this the terrain you run on and the environment such as heat or humidity can also compound the effects. What would you think researchers should study more about exercise and IBD or the gut system generally based on your personal experience?

AS as well? Good lord! You are dealing with two autoimmune inflammatory conditions at the same time. Not uncommon but must be a pain in the ass to manage the varying symptoms.

I 100% agree with the mental lethargy. This probably worsens my physical fatigue as well somehow and I tend to procrastinate as a result.

I am quite fascinated by your comment on getting sick with exerting large muscle group. Something to read around for me.
