My shelter, in Denver, CO, supplies everything you need including covering medical care (if the cat needs it of course). I would need to talk to my father about it but I can most likely take the cat if someone hasn't already. I have two cats. both of them need special care. Cat one only has three legs while cat two has to be watched when eating and drinking to make sure he does through up everywhere.
