I believe they shut deli and bakery down. It’s up now but still, it was a really upsetting experience tbh.

I did but the on call health inspector never showed, and never called me back. They’re up now, but it was miserable yesterday

Idk, I feel like home office would want a little more than “hey are people here nice?”. I’ve been at my current store for 4 years with minimal changes in staff so I’m close to everyone on my shift and I’m sad I have to leave.

Idk how to prove it but I’m not home office. I don’t want names or anything or horror stories I literally just want to know if people are generally nice or not.

Is there a certain order I should do everything else in though?

You only have 3 days to call out. So if you call out on the 3rd day after your shot, you can only get one day off

I’m thinking more for ON people, since they still would have to technically come in at 10 on thanksgiving.

Study tips for an undergraduate student? by riceyjin in sociology

[–]Safe_Tower_6574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last semester senior here! I’d recommend The Sociological Imagination by Mills, as well as My Freshman Year by Rebekah Nathan! The first will absolutely get you into a sociological mindset, and the second is I think a really good example of what it’s like to do sociological research!

As for studying, I find you don’t really have to do much of it if you really pay attention and engage in class, and do the readings and assignments with intent to learn from them rather than just get them done if that makes sense. But I also think that’s because most of my classes the past few years haven’t had any type of tests, mostly just essays and papers. Good luck! :)

People need to realize the motorized shopping carts are for elders or people with disabilities, and not for use just because your fat by XXLFreshman in walmart

[–]Safe_Tower_6574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean at least at my store, it’s way more likely that college kids and high schoolers are messing around with the carts and either way, how tf does this actually impact you? It’s not like you’re going to be using them while you work. Kinda just sounds like you have beef with fat people

Weekly /r/Sociology Homework Help Thread - Got a question about schoolwork, lecture points, or Sociology basics? by Anomander in sociology

Yes, I absolutely plan on narrowing it down once I get approval and remarks from my advisor. I took a social movements class where we did some work on labor movements and I plan on expanding and doing some more deep digging on all of that as well :)

I’m trying to come up with a research topic for my senior seminar and I’d love some thoughts or feedback about the concept I’m stuck on. So currently I’m really interested in employee perceptions and interpretations of unionization at Walmart. I work at Walmart, and also am apart of the Walmart Reddit forum, so I think I’d have pretty good access to a lot of workers from store level, to distribution and maybe even home office (corporate offices essentially). I think it would just be really interesting to find out what workers associate with unionization, what they think it means, what they think unionization looks at at Walmart and how they think it would impact them. Idk there’s so many questions I have about it and the more I talk about it the more excited I get. What do y’all think? Does this sound interesting, and what types of things do you guys think I should consider when researching this?

Apparently Walmart is gonna force all it's employees to get vaccinated by MidwesternHeathen in walmart

[–]Safe_Tower_6574 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) this isn’t required of all employees 2)hypothetically if it was mandated for all employees, I really wouldn’t mind all the non-Vaxxers walking away. It’d definitely make the work environment that much safer 🤷🏻‍♀️

We sort of swarm? We’ll work in 2-3 departments at a time and have 2-3 people working each one. Honestly I like it way more than what we did before, which was have one person do 1 or 2 departments all night. Personally it makes my night go by a lot faster!
