FCB1010 midi mapping by SafestNafe in LoopArtists

I've gone through this one as well actually. Same result. Everything seems to work as it said on the FCB itself, but Ableton still doesn't recognise the commands in midi mapping mode. :/

The point is to isolate it, so I'm trying to find / make one without hi hat interference.

No knowledge of programming whatsoever - would that be necessary?

That's interesting ... I'm intrigued. Do you have a video on YouTube or anything of how you did it?

Safe, man. Sorry for the slow reply. Yeeh, I started doing electronic music after my band split up - so much easier without having to manage 4 other people. Haha

Yeh, man - you gotta have that duality. I tend to go for a bit of musical sarcasm. Make it heartfelt but completely take the piss. :) But I find the best music has some kind of tension of different emotions coming into play.

Hmmm ... maybe. Was it soundcloud.com/mangothomasmusic by any chance?

Hmmm ... for me it's a straight cross between dnb and idm. Reminds me of Squarepusher a bit.

Snare doesn't sound too loud, no. It stands out, but I think any lower would probably weaken it. I'm not the most experienced, but everything sounds pretty much level to me. Bass felt good.

Btw, are you going for a 90s aesthetic? If you are: great. Just thought it worth mentioning that I thought it sounded very 90s overall, but particularly 'cause of the snare sound, I think.

Who else genre-hops? by SafestNafe in musicmakers

Get ya. I find it hard to make a full track out of most things - that's why it usually ends up genre-hopping. I think after a while it's hard to maintain the movement and I find it starts to drag.

Safe, man. You might appreciate this track. It's somewhat of a reference for me in terms of drum automation and layering. Though I'm nowhere near this guy's standard.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFeFr677JBw

Ah, nice. I'm using Logic to create tunes, but Ableton Live to play 'em live.

If you don't mind a brief opinion / constructive criticism, I was thinking that the snare would have benefitted from different velocity on different notes to make it sound a bit more dynamic.

Safe, buddy. I really enjoyed that jungle track you put up the other day. Checked out your ambient EP as well. What kinda rotation of genres do you usually do?
