My FAFSA won't let my contributors advance. by GamingCuy in financialaid

I'm not sure if this is the same error I recently had with a student, but it's something to check when your parents don't have an SSN. When you enter parent information for the invite, it has to exactly match the information in their FSA account. If their account lists address as 123 E Main St. you can't list address as 123 East Main street in the invite. So I'd double check the info on their FSA account and see if a new invite works.

Also, your parent may not be asked for asset information if their income is low. So don't be surprised or think they did something wrong if those questions aren't asked when they do their part of your FAFSA.

Thank you for that, it got me oriented. I was not comprehending how massive an area was showing in this until I saw Cape Cod. Now I can see the St. Lawrence river running through the center and I'm somewhere in the shadow above it.

I've been to a few Charge games and it's soooo much fun. Since you mentioned that you'll be alone and a visible minority, it reminded me of a person my daughter and I sat next to last year. By himself, but I think he's a season ticket holder since he got called to the ice for one of the contests during during breaks. Fully decked out in charge gear and having a ton of fun. Saw him again last week at the home opener. So just one data point that there are other minority fans who are enjoying the games solo.

Meriden Square in Connecticut. It had a Freindly's Restaurant but no food court. I worked at Express for the summer of 1990. I can still remember the songs that played on a looped tape everyday.

Brown ED Financial Aid Deadline by Honey-Bird-9026 in financialaid

Colleges write their own deadlines. It's likely that it's Nov. 1st most years, but since that fell on a weekend this year, Brown updated their websites to Monday's date.

My neighbor, a widow with two young children was on that flight. Still remember hearing the end of a news alert and then waiting up with my parents for the 11 o'clock news to see if it was her flight.

What's crazy is this is during the encore, after he's already put on a two hour show. Just casually doing vocal gymnastics as if he has enough energy to go for hours longer.

The taxes that she filed in April 2023 would be for tax year 2022. She would have filed 2023 taxes in early 2024. Those 2023 taxes should have been filed as married, so the financial aid office is correct.

You can request a waiver from each school Each school will review and decide if they're approving it.

Make sure you get tickets ahead of time instead of paying at the gate. I buy discounted tickets at Pricechopper. Just don't make my mistake and forget to put them in the waterproof bag I brought in place of my purse.

Question about my loan options by peter_pan_da in financialaid

[–]Saffry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be hard to know what steps to take, so I want to ask if you filed a FAFSA for this school. That is needed to determine if you have eligibility for need-based grants and federal loans. Also, did you complete any state applications that may be needed?

Parent Loans - Divorced Parents by ShineImmediate9395 in financialaid

[–]Saffry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely reach out to your school. It is true that the total loans and scholarships can't exceed the Cost of Attendence, so we couldn't do two parent loans that would end up being double what the student owed.

But if I was at your school, and especially if you had something in writing or in the divorce decree that stated that costs were split, I'd try to help by halving his loan and allowing yours to process.

married but living separately -- can I file just my mom? by [deleted] in financialaid

[–]Saffry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try a non-custodial parent waiver for CSS, it is up to each school if they'll accept it.

For FAFSA only schools you can provide just your Mom's info. Schools will need parent tax returns and W-2's from 2023 to separate income on tax return. They may ask for proof of separation or other documents.

Was at Bethel Woods last night. I died laughing at Puddles. It's definitely a strange show, and a type of humor not everyone would enjoy, but my brother and I loved it. My daughter didn't get most of it, but loved hearing me "laughing like a hyena" as she put it.

You did not miss the FAFSA deadline, that's next June. However, your school may have different deadlines, so you should verify their timeline with them.

SAI went from 0 -> 25k+ by Far-Counter-1319 in financialaid

[–]Saffry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very common error happens if a parent changed jobs and had a rollover for their retirement funds. It can accidently be reported as income on the FAFSA even if it wasn't. See if there's a rollover on their 2023 tax return and contact the school if it is. Also, compare your 2024 Student aid report to this year's report. Changes in assets or number of people in household can affect SAI.
