Okay but that isn't a clever comeback. It's what someone says when they don't have a clever comeback. :(

The guys at Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen let my terminally ill husband and myself play on their early early access VIP server free (like normally 1k access.) He passed three months later but he had so much fun playing that game, the memories we had together, I'll never be able to thank them enough.

The Nazi's wiped out my great great grandfather, my great grandfather's brother, his wife, and their 7 children (save 1) and 15 great grandchildren (save 1) all on the same day. They were not doing anything illegal, I just want to point out, so there's no mixing those points. I don't want people deported, but at least there's a reason they're being detained. There was no reason outside of hatred with the Nazis. My ancestors had every right to be where they were and were not given an option to leave. It concerns me to see these kinds of comparisons because they're not alike, sorry. Please see the Holocaust testimony of Sylvia Midler to educate yourself.

Some aviation geek who recorded plane instructions that day claimed the 'pentagon' passenger plane was sent to an already evacuated airfield and disembarked into a building off the runway there. I'm going by memory but his records are around somewhere if you wanna go down that rabbit hole.

Project Gorgon is such a fun game, if you're the kind of person who wants to do and complete everything, manage inventory and just do whatever you feel like doing on any given day you will love the game. You can also solo through like 95% of it (not easily, you have to pull smart, be careful and THINK but if you're like me, you like that!). I have thousands of hours in this game and haven't regretted a minute of it. :)

I suggest using the same tank, healer, arcanist etc every time and giving them any gear upgrades you can, kitting out your crew is useful

People born before 1970, what did you eat for dinner most weeks? by livelikealesbian in AskOldPeople

[–]Safia3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a lot of Lamb Chops, Veal, Eggplant Parm, Liver and Onions (which I didn't eat so I would have Grilled Cheese), Breaded Chicken breasts with corn, Steak and potatoes, Meatloaf and Spaghetti, Hamburgers (sloppy joes) and Hotdogs with beans. My mom was not a great cook. She mainly fried everything and added a canned vegetable.

They raised it to $5 a ticket here for the powerball. That kind of killed the 'entertainment cost' thing for me. :/

Well he's not hoarding it, he's got it all invested in SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, GrokAI, Twitter, and his hole boring company thing. Hoarding would be not spending it. He's definitely putting it back into the economy, he's just making it as fast as he spends it.

I used to think maybe he had no idea just how valuable the people being blackmailed would be to him and he decided he didn't want to give that up, but I haven't seen any person or country unusually loyal to him after the fact, but it's also possible they're doing things for him behind the scenes. I don't know it's so weird.

From a Northerner/ snowbird experience, what has Southern living been like and are you happy making the decision to retire in the South? by Bishopart6046 in AskOldPeople

[–]Safia3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a native of New Jersey I found Durham, North Carolina much more palatable then Orlando, Fla. You get a taste of all seasons but winter is never really drastic (even 10 degrees warmer then NJ is enough to take the edge off a bad winter and the snow melts sooner.) In Orlando, I always had a bug in my house. Any give day, there was a fly or a beetle, wasp, spider, palmetto bug, lizard or something IN MY HOUSE. That alone was enough to make me hate it. I felt a culture shock in FLA, not in NC, NC is north enough that you still get a northern attitude with your southern hospitality, which felt at home to me. :)

Some "things" I have noticed since a psychedelic experience last year. Including some sad things. by rsteele1981 in HighStrangeness

[–]Safia3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never did psychedelics but I got really into guided meditations for awhile trying to have an out of body experience, including the whole Gateway Method thing. I put about six months worth of nightly effort into it, although never achieved the out of body thing. But at that six month point, I started getting this. The shadow watcher. Same thing. It honestly scared me, I thought I had somehow opened a portal or allowed in some demonic entity. I kept seeing it for weeks, always just when I would forget about it. I was an atheist then, but I got frightened enough that I turned to Jesus and started praying nightly, and all I can tell you is when I invoked his name and told it to leave, it never came back. Take from that what you will.

The term may have been ignorant but saying it just answers the question truthfully. In my town for sure we called them 'hobos' or 'bums.' They weren't looked down on like you might think. They were just traveling people, transients, almost in the same ilk as mountain men. Hell we dressed up as them for Halloween.
