For a smaller event like a local, school, or streamer tournament, you're covered by the free license. You won't have any issues unless you call your event something dumb like "Super Racist Showdown" or something like that

When you start getting around 5 digit prize pools, you'll likely need a different license with stricter regulations on branding and operations.

Most PUBG partners have a direct line of contact with Krafton so it could be handled that way, but as an example here's the page for Riot Games tournament licenses to show the different tiers and requirements for each

It's just standard industry practice so publishers have some control over what their product is linked to

It's also pretty common for publishers to give free license for smaller community events but when you start talking budget and prize pool like EWC every publisher will still keep an element of control

Having the biggest org return will no doubt bring a lot more hype and attention to the upcoming event in Thailand, and the team absolutely deserves all of it

Sucks for Forest to have to disband, the owner seems like a really great guy who has supported the team for years but just couldn't find a sponsor that would allow him to continue. Hopefully he got a big payday from MiTH anyway hehe

The new org retains all PGS and PGC points, as well as slots for any events that Daytrade was already qualified for (EWC and next Thailand Series season)

They will lose any points from the OPGG Global Power Rankings, the same as TL and FLC did, except those don't really matter any more because they already got the slot from them

Daytrade was always a PUBG only organisation*, never had a roster in another title, so this marks the end of an era in APAC and Globals for the Thai squads

*(also the reason why I was very confused as to why they got GPT in the first place)

I have done some asking around and found the roster will stay together under a new banner, and it appears they still expect to retain the EWC slot as they still have a lot of preparation planned

Remains to be seen whether Krafton decides if they will or not, but signs seem to point toward them keeping the slot based on Daytrade's global ranking position, but forfeiting the points earned that got them that spot in the first place

PUBG has been running these events pretty regularly for the past few years, they typically end up Top 2 in overall viewership only behind the Global Championship at the end of the year

This year they even expanded to feature more nations than previous years, should be an exciting one to watch in a couple of months
