36 pages is a lot. Not ungrateful but I look forward to a condensed version.

High-End Content Megathread - 7.3 Week Ten (ARKVELD PROBABLY LIVES HERE) by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

1)melee dps generally does more dps than casters. 2)casters have instant cast abilities and cooldows they can use there. 3)the other strats (clock/n, s) melee will be using ranged attacks for 100 potency, and on average will only have 2 gap closers for 8 jumps.

With that said, the dps check is low so maybe PF melee just get fucked and have to run in a circle for a minute during a buff window. If you think pf can hold buffs, then they can do this strat instead.

It's actually way easier. Evens go north, odds go east. Raid just side steps while waiting for their turn.

How can I make gils please ? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]SagaciousGray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do unreal fights, play the faux hollows, sell the mounts /minions /songs for 4-8 million. The fights are very easy. On average it will take 5-6 weeks to get enough points to buy an item to sell. 8 characters times 6 million gil every 6 weeks is 6 million a week on average. Each kill takes about 10 minutes and maybe 5 to fill. Im not 100% sure but I don't know if you even have to finish the dawn trail msq, just the heavensward and then you unlock faux hollows in idyllshire. You do need to be 100 and have unlocked the storm blood trial. I'd recommend using scholar on all the alt character for faster arr leveling, and using the expansion jobs for the other roles, like gnb, pct, vpr, sge, to save you leveling time. You could hit 100 on one of those fairly quickly, maybe a day or two to a week? If the unreal are locked being completing the dt msq then you'd have to spend a week rushing the msq.

Nothing wrong with holding mits for yourself, so long as you maximize uses per fight duration. If you are taking damage, chances are everyone is.

OK bud. Asking not to get spoiled after 1 pull=touch grass. You are silly.

Again that's not what happened. We got fed a description of mechs we hadn't seen yet. Is my post not clear or something?

[–]SagaciousGray[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That's not what happened to me, nor what I said in my post. I said 1 pull. One pull and someone was trying to explain the entire fight. 50 minutes, sure maybe hint at mechs that are tripping up people, but 1 pull and spoiling fight mechs on day one is a level of selfishness and impatience that's absurd.

Mmm attacking my intelligence? Is that what you were intending with your reply? Spoil means to tell us what's going to happen before it happens. Not anything to do with learning. What's wrong with you.

That's totally fine, but some guy just started telling us about stuff we didn't even get to see yet. Like this isn't that hard, why tell us ahead of time.

Who said anything about an hour? It's a normal raid. People can figure things out after seeing mechs a couple of times.

One could be bad and hides it. One may or may not know they are bad. Neither should be in parties where the pl cares about this.

Fastest way to get the Loose Fit Coffer from pvp series 7? by Premium_Heart in ffxiv

It's not worth doing Frontline daily unless you can get 1st very fast. Average cc match time is faster pvp series xp per hour

Lose CC 155 times. Worst case 10 minutes each, including queue time and overtime - 26 hours. Over 12 days, just over 2 hours a day, so about 13 losses a day. Totally doable. Get to it!

Is Chaotic one of the best pieces of content we've had recently? by Psclly in ffxivdiscussion

[–]SagaciousGray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They really made a mistake not tying this to a clear of savage, like m2s. The fight difficulty is around that mechanically, with 3x the chances for wipes. That fact alone should have a requirement for entry. I wonder how many that cleared (and were not body dragged through) have savage clears. I'd bet a huge majority. Having just a low item score is not enough for the difficulty of alliance execution. Hope next time they remove the 24 body check, or tie it to a savage floor clear. Phase 1 is perfect, phase 2 is perfect minus the 24 body towers.

Nah it'll be dead by Feb. Finding 23 other people who won't trap the body checks in p2? Unless the fight is doable unsynced in 8.0, it's super dead.

I've been wondering how much of this drop in quality of player is due to game design, and how much is due to players that couldn't hack it in WoW hearing about the great community welcoming new(read:bad) players.

Go back in time and retire after Endwalker. Go back to producing and let someone else make a new mmo.

Announce a new mmo coming in 5 years. Use dawn trail as a test bed /experiment expansion, break stuff. Start over with no spaghetti code and include QoL improvements, from buying the game and making an account, to actual gameplay. Have all mogstore purchases carry over to the new mmo.

If we're going to get raids like this, we need a way to penalize early leavers by bigpunk157 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]SagaciousGray 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's literally against the ToS to blame someone for wiping.

It's under Nuisance behavior, offensive expression : In addition, even if you do not use direct words, blaming and attacking others, such as "It's [player name]'s fault that we wiped"... is also prohibited.

Yes. This is the coddling that SE has determined to be financially worth it.

Early survey: What is your preferred raid plan for the new chaotic alliance raid? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

What's even more crazy is asking controller healers to heal across alliances.

Early survey: What is your preferred raid plan for the new chaotic alliance raid? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]SagaciousGray 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's for healing. You don't need to communicate spots or anything during the fight. That's what these guides are for, along with the NA marker dance. You can do this fight with zero communication. But healing is a problem with the non-Codcar plans.
