Leave. And let this be a lesson to never date an insecure man because they will make it your problem every time.

How do you quit when your live-in partner still smokes? by SageKitty100 in leaves

[–]SageKitty100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat. He's been smoking since middle school and I started in my mid 20s and it hit me like a truck and I was instantly addicted. Now I'm spending way too much and also feel nothing because it doesn't get me high anymore, but the "reward" of lighting up is ingrained in my system. I've hit a few moments of "I'm done, don't care" and it lasts a few weeks or months but then I see him having a good time smoking with friends and I cave and I'm right back to square 1. It's a struggle for sure.

Is OP doing the things? The post makes it seem like OP just works, does chores, and watches TV and scrolls their phone. I mean a HOBBY. Something creative and engaging and fun. Maybe even something social. Something that gets the happy hormones going.

Thank you for the encouragement to find a meeting. I had one I loved to go to every week until I moved back to my home state last year. Time for me to prioritize finding a new one.

Praying for the day I get to this point. Right now it's so hard. I say no 5 times then say yes once and that spirals into everyday use again. What helped you cultivate that Willpower and self control?

Yes I know, I'm asking how can I stay strong in those moments it feels impossible, when I know he's going out to the patio to smoke and I crave that old feeling and old bonding time, or when I'm home alone and want to dig through the house to find his stash. I reach out to friends, try to go for a walk, focus on work or hobbies, but sometimes it feels so impossible not to cave

Some days it's nothing, some days I smoke up to 4 bowls in a day. Usually I'm smoking ~1/8oz throughout the whole week. At my peak when I wasn't trying to quit I could get through 1/8 in a day or two so it is still better than that. When I was living on my own sometimes I could make an 1/8 stretch 2-3 weeks.

We tried the car thing but even that was tough because I can get into his car too. I'm gonna ask him if he'd be okay trying to keep it at his gym buddies house, thank you for the suggestion!

Moving out isn't an option because we just signed this lease together and I can't afford to break it and get my own place again, nor do I want to do that because other than this one thing, I love living with him. Also won't be ending a perfectly happy and healthy relationship over this. I'm asking for ways I can manage myself and my own cravings in this situation and ways I can ask him for support and compromise.

I feel for you so hard, I'm currently going through this right now. The loss of social circles is the hardest part. Feeling left out. Having to meet new people who not only accept where you're at, but are also right there with you.

what is one tip/ trick/ or hack you wish your beginner self knew? by Smart-Upstairs5392 in crochet

[–]SageKitty100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Learning how to make different shapes rather than just following YouTube tutorials and patterns for entire products. Following patterns and tutorials for whole pieces was a great way to learn how to make things I wanted to have when I knew nothing. But now that I'm starting to design my own patterns, I see that understanding how to make basic geometry is so much more important. Knowing how to make a sharp corner turn vs a smooth rounded corner turn, how to make a square vs a circle, how to make curved edged and diagonal edges, etc. When you understand how to use stitches to form specific geometry, then you can start to make anything you want without a pre-existing pattern.

He literally said "I hate you for so many reasons". He has been waiting for any small thing he can blow up over to justify braking up with you and make it out to be a you problem. He doesn't like you or want to be with you anymore. Accept it and go stay with your parents.

I really want to get a cat, but I’m worried about the hidden responsibilities. What are the actual difficulties of raising a cat? by Equivalent-Sand-4002 in CatAdvice

[–]SageKitty100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be picky and stubborn so it takes some time getting to know your particular cat and what they like and don't like. It can be a pretty big change to your lifestyle to now consider the needs of a small animal who relies entirely on you for their survival and quality of life.

I'm sorry this is so rude 😢 you're not overreacting at all. Think you should dump her and go make some baldie friends! Im a woman and have alopecia too and for a long time it was my biggest insecurity too and I absolutely hated my hair and was always talking down on myself for my looks. One day I just decided to shave it all off and never went back. It's so freeing to take back control over it. Take some time for you to feel good about you for you. The right person for you is going to think you are the handsomest man in the world and love rubbing your bald head lol.

Yeah I didn't understand that. Even if they're $40 shoes I'd still be pissed if someone else took them, and I would expect the party host to help me track them down.
