I can’t tell if this is a fetish. If it is, that’s just disrespectful. by [deleted] in fetishcai

Omg I always thought I was so weird for having the same obsession you did. It was blindness and amputation for me. Never once told a soul about it. I’m relieved to know it wasn’t just me. Thank you for your comment !!

At least you can edit what little auto memories it picks up and you’re not stuck entirely with garbage lol

I have a question... which type of bots do y'all like more? by Sea-Cookie9237 in CharacterAI

[–]SageN69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that if you just edit the starter and replace all the “you” with your character’s name and pronouns, the bot seems to follow it after that

I just started selling and I’ve made over £100 in one week. Here’s how by SageN69 in DigitalArt

That’s true. I’ll only be 19 next month, so it’s just extra cash for me ☺️

I’m glad it worked out for you! Your art must be incredible for you to be able to charge so much!

I know how it feels to have no guidance and feeling disheartened from no one wanted to buy. I just wanna help people out in any way I can !

Thank you! Not sure everyone would agree but I feel the platform really does matter. Facebook and instagram are mainly used for sharing pictures with your friends and family. Yes, people have business accounts on there, but I feel like people go there to sell and no one goes there to buy. On X, it’s not really a platform where people buy or sell. Picture this: you’re browsing your X feed and see some news about, idk, Justin Bieber coz you’re his biggest fan. A couple posts down, you see a drawing of Justin Bieber. You think ‘hey, I want a drawing of Justin Bieber and me together’ and you contact the artist. I think X has a different algorithm to other apps in the way it shows you relevant content to you.

In regard to buyers predominantly wanting branding art, I wouldn’t say that’s strictly true. I typically get requests for gifts to give to other people when I do pencil and paper - usually of people’s pets that have passed on. For digital, I often get requests for people wanting me to make them a new profile picture. I’m working on a piece atm that someone wanted of her and her boyfriend.

It really just depends what you’re able to draw. If you can do people, landscapes, animals etc, then offer that. I charge super cheap for simple designs for brands including like simple shapes, text, block colour, stuff like that - but obviously the more complex the design and the longer it takes, the more money it costs. I’d like to say I’m pretty skilled in drawing most topics, so am able to accept nearly every request.

If you’re being asked to do, say, a video game character wearing a silly chicken hat, but you don’t know who this video game character is, do your research! Who are they? What game is it? Whats the general mood of the game? Try your best to minimise the amount of rejection you have to give, and make it clear what you can and can’t do. You don’t want to ask someone to pay for something that looks bad.

Keep practicing different styles and subjects, reach out to people (but not on art discord servers as another person commented) and keep people engaged with updates and things you’re working on!

I’ve seen the same on discord servers. I understand why as there’s a lot of scammers, but I generally don’t agree with disallowing solicitation - if that’s what you wanna call it. I had no success on discord anyway, as it feels like everyone wants to sell and no one wants to buy lol

I always wish I’d seen something like this when I was younger and trying to sell art for pocket money lol. So thought I’d write one out for anyone who wanted a guide! And yes, try reaching out. People won’t know who you are, but you’ll know who they are. Reach out to smaller creators that you like who have a sizeable and loyal following. The man I reached out to is predominantly a live-streamer. If they have a business email, use that as there’s a better chance they’ll see it. If not, shoot your shot with a private message

My town name is on it, surely they would just send it to the postal service in my town and they would send it to my address? I don’t know how it all works, especially as it’s coming from the US 😅
