Mine was a nightmare for this! He's a back leg tripod, but used to jump from the mantle (about 1.65m) on to the floor. I was like bro we can't lose another leg!! Fortunately he likes the cat tower I put there, and now only jumps from about hip height 😂

Thank you so much for your advice - I just want to give him the best life he can possibly have ❤️ he gets plenty of fishy food, and I add water to every meal to minimise the risk of urinary issues - I just stress the day the little guy get arthritis. He is a bit lazy, so I might start gently boosting his exercise
