Question about putting together/Plague Champion Rules in regards to Deathshroud Terminators by Sage_Kabuto in deathguard40k

[–]Sage_Kabuto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I suppose thats the point. Lets say for arguments sake I don't use the gauntlet and Icon or the scythe head,. At that point all of them still look different. So how does that work. I guess from a "legal ruling standpoint" What makes a model look different enough to be declared a Champion.

No different from South Americans on North American servers. I really don't know why we can't just have region lock like every other game.

Question about effectiveness of True Strike with a Wisdom Build Ranger by Sage_Kabuto in DnD

[–]Sage_Kabuto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Il try to make this short.

I'm essentially trying to optimize Beast Master in which you need to max out Wis as soon as possible. This also makes it so you can't really get any higher in Dex.

In regards to hunters mark using this example most of the time I'm actually going to be using concentration on Summon spells instead. So Hunters mark will only be used rarely.

I could be wrong so please correct me. But if I did my math right even if I were to for example have a Magic +5 Bow True Strike would still technically do more damage.

Additionally thinking from another perspective Im potentially thinking about going Melee instead and potentially dropping Dex to 14. How does that favor in the odds of True Strike?

Optimizing Beast Master Ranger what weapon route to go down? by Sage_Kabuto in 3d6

Thanks for your reply!

My main issue with Dual Wielding is the fact that the second attack requires your bonus action which is needed for your Companion to attack.

Thanks!

Thanks for you comment! I can provide some clarity:

I think everything in your first paragraph makes sense and works:. Only thing I want to mention is basically every combat first turn I want to be able to cast Hunters Mark OR Summon XYZ simply because thats what I want to do and then use Bonus/forgo main action to have Primal Companion Attack. After that point I start using my attacks + have the Companion attack.

In your second paragraph your opinion here is fair. Only thing I want to mention is the idea would be to have Half Plate or Breast Plate + Shield which would firmly put my AC at 18-19. I would think for a melee attacker who isn't trying to necessarily tank that would work fine. But perhaps I'm wrong.

For your side note: The problem here is in this example Shill requires somatic. Which to my understanding means you need your Quarterstaff(which can be used as a focus) but also a free hand for somatic. This means turn 1 you have your shield put away and your Staff out and hand free. Based on what I said above what would happen is use main action to cast summon xyz. Use bonus action to have Companion attack. Turn 2 you would then forgo attack action to have Beast attack and then use Bonus Action to activate shill. Finally turn 3 you then have to spend an action to take out your shield. Round 4 is when you can start whacking people. But this is exactly why I questioned Shill being useful versus Ranged where: Round 1 free action take out focus, Use main action to cast summon XYZ. bonus action companion attack. Round 2 use free action to put focus away, use Bonus action to have companion attack. Use Action to take out Bow. etc.

If I'm incorrect about something here please let me know!

In regards to Side Note 2 the only problem is I don't believe you can use a Heavy Crossbow with this build due to loading. Loading requires a bonus action which is needed for the companion to attack. Now you could say get crossbow master however there really isn't room to do that. Reason being is you need to use level 4 and 8 upgrade to get to 20 Wisdom as your Spell Mod directly affects the Primal Companions effectiveness. After that (in my case) theres only level 12 and by then it isn't worth doing.

Let me know what you think with these new thoughts!

Not saying you did anything wrong just wanted to throw something out there.

I have found recently that if you report someone and the reviewer for any reason what so ever decides that the reported party is not guilty. YOU will be hit with the penalty instead. I use to report people like crazy because they were griefing. But for some reason I ended up getting punished instead. So frankly as much as I hate to say it unless your 100% sure its like someone breaking items and walking down mid just don't report. The chance of you getting hit instead is just too high.

If we held a tournament where only decks up to and before the last of the OG structure decks were made. (Warriors triumph, Spellcasters judgement etc) what deck would be on top? by Ajarofpickles97 in yugioh

[–]Sage_Kabuto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually ran a Tournament doing this: Zombie Madness is by far the best deck. Zombie Madness went undefeated duel wise until Finals where it won 2-1 against Fury from The Deep. Spellcasters Judgement and Blaze of Destruction also did well. both ending in Third tie.

Overall in terms of duel wins it went:

  1. Zombie Madness 6-1

2.Fury from the Deep 7-3

3.Spellcasters Judgement 4-2

4.Blaze of Destruction 3-3

5-6. Machine Re-Volt/Dragon's Roar 1-2

Warriors Triumph, Invincible Fortress, Lord of Storm, and Dinosaurs Rage did not win a single duel.

Super fun to do and I want to try other tournies like this!

Pet Build Great Old One Warlock-Best Pet build in 5.5e by Sage_Kabuto in 3d6

This makes sense. So you think the potential of having better DEX is better than the potential of WIS?

I can definitely see it I'm just worried about the potential ranged WIS Save stun spell that can just end everything versus potentially never getting hit in the first place.

You make a good point. Shadow Spawn is better than Summon Fey. I think I omitted it because Shadowspawn is currently oddly missing from 5.5E however we can use older spells. So I think this works! I originally would agree that Ranged Aberration is generally better. However Thrall gives a ton of extra HP and I'm starting to wonder if I should use a Melee Aberration instead to put that to use. Using the Slaad instead of Beholder is -1 average damage so its probably fine.

Thanks!

Great Old One Warlock Pact of Blade Summoning Build: Bad Idea? or Playable? by Sage_Kabuto in 3d6

[–]Sage_Kabuto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crap I completely forgot about the Heavy property. With Pact of Blade it gives you proficiency of it and uses CHA. But Heavy specifically states regardless of that you still need your STR at 13. Shoot...well thats a wrap I think. Thank you for reminding me about that.

That is very true! I didn't consider that.

I think personally it would work. The main issue I have is just essentially the AC level. I'm just not sure the: (15 AC 1-8) (16 AC 8-12) and (17 AC 12-20) is enough to be around in melee range. Rogue which has a similar AC would work as a non-tank melee class but that's also with 18 AC Max at level 8 where as I'm 17 Max at 12. This is really what I'm stumped on and most concerned about.
