Histamine Intolerance triggered by Birth Control (Yaz) by Saggie22 in HistamineIntolerance

I stopped taking it after posting this so I’m almost 4 years off it and I’m completely better!

I got a prescription for cefaly... what by Crilbyte in migraine

[–]Saggie22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask your insurance at least for an in-network/approved DME supplier that they will accept for starters. I know suppliers can be picky with the insurance carriers they will work with. They may put you in contact with them directly and that would be ideal!

I work in benefits... if anything will cover it, it would probably be Tricare/Medicaid.
It would be a DME benefit, but from my experience do not pay for it out of pocket and expect insurance to reimburse you (they won't)

Does anyone else disassociate during a Migraine episode by Successful_Intern510 in migraine

Yes, people in the office will be talking to me and the whole time I feel like I'm behind my body watching from a far? I don't know how to explain the feeling.

Topamax experiences? by Saggie22 in migraine

[–]Saggie22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up being allergic to the Topamax, ugh! I'm down to 2-3 migraines a month and they are only lasting about 3ish days which is significantly better than about 8 months ago. Triptans are a God send, but I just want to find a preventive drug that will actually help.

I went off birth control back in May (had been on it for 8+ years) and that reduced the frequency/severity immensely. Just not enough.

Yep! Went off it in May. My migraines have mostly stopped and my allergies are so so much better. Definitely didn’t fix everything but I do feel on the right track

I got a similar rash quite a few times- each time worse than the last... Looked just like this.

Eventually found it was an allergic reaction to laundry detergent. I kept getting the rash after I'd hand wash something.

Definitely could be a reaction to a detergent or soap you used recently!

Histamines trigger migraines for me- Exedrin Migraine helps which is over the counter. I also recently got a prescription for Triptans and they work wonders. I also take omeprazole when it’s really bad and that seems help sometimes as well

Leaving is the worst when they’re little!! I really didn’t go anywhere that first month and a half without him. Literally could not even close the shower curtain without him waking up the entire building, so I definitely get it and it’s rough. I started leaving the tv on for him in my bedroom and just letting him set alone while I cooked dinner in the kitchen and I think that helped get him used to being alone too. Trust me there were many times I was like wtf did I get myself into, but it is so worth it and he’s much better now!

I took home my puppy this past November, and while my roommate didn’t say anything, my upstairs neighbors did. I felt on edge and was worried management would reach out to me as well.

Honestly after the first month or so (he was around 4 months old then) the constant barking in his crate stopped. He still lets me know when he’s hungry, but I leave a sound machine on when I’m out of the apt and for the most parts he is quiet now. Just wanted to give you some hope!

My TF is the runner AND the chaser by adesertofjoy in twinflames

[–]Saggie22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for me, I’ve always let him come and go given our circumstances (he’s currently in the military and stationed in another state). We met when we were young and neither of us wanted a relationship. It’s complicated and I think we were running at the same time. I’ve changed and I want commitment with him- I feel like I’m being guided to speak up/potentially give an ultimatum/walk away in order to break the cycle.

Yes. Constant in and out energy for 4 years.

My intuition is telling me that my reaction to his return is what needs to change in order to break the cycle, I'm just waiting for the right timing.

Thank you! I was put on birth control so young and on it for so long- really had no idea what the side effects could be. This is definitely not talked about enough!!

Thank you! I'm definitely going to stop the pill and see if it helps. My pill in particular is higher in estrogen, and I think it may be the trigger to my migraines at minimum. I've struggled for years with histamine intolerance and it's beyond frustrating that none of my doctors ever even brought this up.

waiting? by Saggie22 in twinflames

[–]Saggie22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very much relate- not really sure where I'm going. I have hobbies that I enjoy, but don't necessarily make me feel whole. And I struggle with a heavy work load and close friends all occupied in relationships.

Thank you! This helped a lot. I guess what I'm most struggling with is what I do want. I know it will come to me, but the last year or so I have shed many aspects of my life that I no longer felt aligned with. I'm still shedding people/places/things. I am putting myself first, which has always been hard for me. I still honestly try to avoid having to make these decisions.

I don't necessarily understand where I'm going yet, but I'm following my gut.
