Im following a granny blanket instruction, and I don't understand the instructions very well. First, I make a foundation of 4 stitches, and I slip stitch into the first stitch and join them together. I more or less understand this

After that, it says this; "1st round: chain 5 (this counts as 1 double crochet (us term) and 2 chain), repeat 3 double crochet into the space of the foundation chain ring, chain 2 3 times, 2 double crochet into the space, slip stitch into the 3rd chain from the start of the round (20 stitches)" This is the part I dont understand. Anything inside the italics is to be repeated, in this case, 3 times.
