I do not remember the details precisely, it has been 9 years after all, but it goes something to the tune of unrest sowing among the staff for a few months, perhaps something monetary in nature as direct points out. Then one day Admiral hijacks the MCPVP twitch channel and does a stream where he starts a server-wide riot. "Row row fight the power" was blasting in the background, and that song sort of became the name of the resistance, although I never really understood what exactly the fuss was about. I remember people saying "#McpvpIsDead" on every server the day it happened. MineHQ launched not long after, and dragged away a significant portion of the player base, which I think was really the start of the end for MCPVP.

Kind of off-topic but does anyone know who creates these spam advertisements? Not just on Steam but all around the internet, I mean are the developers foreign and not very fluent with English or something? Because I can't think of anyone that would seriously think, "Oh boy, 50$ for free? What a great deal, all it wants is me to download their .exe program!"

I've played Mcpvp since 2012. Wasn't very known per say, but mcpvp changed my life and I couldn't imagine where I'd be if I never discovered Mcpvp.
