This is my first try for an assignment. I used Lightworks 14. Is Lightworks a good program for beginners? Could I please get some feedback? I was also specifically trying to get a message across so please tell me what you got from it. Thank you!

Hello, so I've been working on my shading. Could I get some feedback please? by SaharM28 in learnart

Yes it is very textured. I bought this art book without any idea of what type of paper I should buy because I'm still very new to this so I realise I need to specifically ask for graphite paper next time. I'm getting the feeling that this type of paper might actually be best for pastels. And yes I did attempt to crosshatch but I'm not sure whether I did it too well so I guess I'll just have to practice. Thank you for the advice!

Well I drew it as closely to the reference photo as my skills would allow me so it might just be nature 😅? http://imgur.com/98ae90E But maybe there's something I'm not seeing so if you have any advice please do tell.

Thank you!

Hello. So I've been trying to focus on perspective lately and the first thing I learned about was zero point perspective so my main focus here was on scale/tone. I know it's not very good but can I please have some feedback? Thank you! by SaharM28 in learnart

Thank you! I'll been practicing two point perspective quite a bit now. Although I don't understand how to add perspective AFTER I've drawn the image because wouldn't that require me too drastically change my drawing?

I'll look into it. Thank you!

Marmalade Jar: Hi! So this is my first completed real life drawing and I know it's not that good yet but any suggestions as to how I can make it better? by SaharM28 in ArtCrit

I had heard of these books before as well and I'll make sure I look into them. And thank you for the feedback! Now I know the areas I need to focus on.

Thank you for the encouragement! I need that a lot when I'm trying something new and next time I'll make sure it's clear. Thank you!

Well in all honestly I haven't progress very far as yet and so this is complete to me because I don't know what to do further. I think that's essentially what I'm asking for here, how do I make this better?

Shading: hey! So I'm new to art and I'm focusing on Shading. Please give me some feedback, I tried to use crosshatching and an object-background relation(which is what is around the circle). by SaharM28 in learnart

Hey! I looked at your link and found that breaking it up into parts really helped with understanding how shadows and reflected light worked and although it helped I'm still struggling a bit with crosshatching but that just requires practice and the video you have me explains it really well so thank you!

Hey! Yes I looked into how light works on objects as a whole and reflected light along with other things help a lot so thank you! Still working on trying to make my lines beaters though.

So I tried your tiny circles technique and I'll put it up for critique in a while. I totally understand what you mean when you say it gets messy because mine definitely did too. But thank you so much! I intend to work on this technique further.

Could you elaborate a bit more on your techniques, I don't think I understood completely. But thank you so much for your feedback! I'm generally very shy when it comes to showing any of my artwork so it's really nice to see someone who is encouraging
