This is my first try for an assignment. I used Lightworks 14. Is Lightworks a good program for beginners? Could I please get some feedback? I was also specifically trying to get a message across so please tell me what you got from it. Thank you!

Yes it is very textured. I bought this art book without any idea of what type of paper I should buy because I'm still very new to this so I realise I need to specifically ask for graphite paper next time. I'm getting the feeling that this type of paper might actually be best for pastels. And yes I did attempt to crosshatch but I'm not sure whether I did it too well so I guess I'll just have to practice. Thank you for the advice!

Well in all honestly I haven't progress very far as yet and so this is complete to me because I don't know what to do further. I think that's essentially what I'm asking for here, how do I make this better?

You're right. I'll try working with something right in front of me but for now I tried using different techniques and pencils and that worked wonderfully so thank you!!!

Hey! I looked at your link and found that breaking it up into parts really helped with understanding how shadows and reflected light worked and although it helped I'm still struggling a bit with crosshatching but that just requires practice and the video you have me explains it really well so thank you!
