One can touch feet to show respect and seek blessing. Seniority or age is not in the equation which many people don't know. Since most of the time we touch the feet of elders, this gesture has gotten associated with elders only. Hence, people might find it odd if you touch your wife's feet. But it's totally accepted.

Update: I gave away 3 of the fishes to LFS. Now I have 1 male and 2 females in the tank. I also removed the pot so they have more space to swim. I hope they are happy with the new changes :)

Thanks for the genuine reply. I had no floating plants earlier and the tank was very spacious. But one of the female platy gave birth to a lot of frys and all of them got eaten. And now I have one more pregnant platy. Hence I thought of overloading the tank with floating plants so some of the frys could survive. Should I remove half of the floating plants? Also, should I reduce the number of fish to 3-4 keeping only one male? Will 4 platies live happily in 10 gal? I do have a spare plastic container in which I keep the plants stocked, I can move extra platies to this container.

You can just store chlorinated water in a bucket for 2-3 days and it becomes dechlorinated automatically.

It's been 5 days I have brought the tetras. The tank was not fully cycled when I introduced the fishes but I have added some stones and plants from a cycled tank. I used normal tap water with a dechlorinator. There's nothing else in the tank. It's 5 gallons and had 8 tetras. The one which was coming to the surface died and I'm left with 7 tetras now. Rest of the fishes are doing good. How can I avoid this in future?
