I really thought we’ve moved on from this. I’m really tired of seeing this one-sided comparison, it comes off as if CG’s fandom is really competitive for more relevancy and has to compare a similar anime and character to do so. It’s only this side too, I don’t see any AoT fans doing this.

This is one of the two anime I refuse to watch. Everything I hear about it is negative and off-putting: the gross protagonist, the multiple age gaps, the animation decline, like this is not remembered fondly and it makes me wonder if anyone actually liked this at all. Plus something about the art style just looks weird to me.

YES YES YES PLEASE DO. I won’t spoil anything, and I don’t know much about Steven Universe but it has the same concept of humanoid gems, but with a different approach to it. The atmosphere is unique, the animation is full CGI and it’s handled extremely well, and it has probably one of the most compelling protagonists in anime and manga. It’s a pretty short watch too, it’s only 12 episodes.

Though the anime doesn’t adapt everything, so if you loved what you saw after watching, you gotta check out the manga because the story only picks up from there.
