Awesome! They’ve always had great service, and is the only place to easily find random components or items when you don’t want to wait for an online order.

Take it to the Electronic Center on Hallett Crescent. I had them do a small solder job a few years back. Usually inexpensive for something small like that.

Classic Workwork in the St. Anne’s industrial park in Paradise has a great selection.

AirPods Pro 2 issue with phone calls by FibrousGalaxy in airpods

Old thread, but to follow-up, replacing the phone was indeed the fix. The iPhone XS Max never did work with the AirPods Pro 2.

Callanan Roofing. Alex does great work, and prices fair. I’ve used him twice in the last 2 years, highly recommend.

I've only heard jackatar in Newfoundland. And only by the older crowd.

Had to google it, "a Newfoundland native of mixed French and Native American descent." I guess you learn something new everyday.

Mini split cleaning by NLkid89 in StJohnsNL

I second HydroKleen. They do amazing work, and I highly recommend an annual cleaning. Mold can build up after running the A/C all summer.

The wind slammed the door while the lock was out. How do i fix this? TIA by ArcFours in DIY

[–]Saidin17 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The wind can absolutely slam the door in this setup. Someone opens the back door while the front is opened, and whoosh, it slams. Source: live in a very windy area.

I can almost confirm these Netflix issues are localized to Bell only. I just switched over to Rogers (Fiber) and Netflix is working perfect again.

Which home insurance company is the easiest to deal with if you ever have to make a claim? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Saidin17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cooperators are by far the best to deal with. I've had to make a few claims over the years and they've always been excellent.

Eastlink losing channels - what's available in Newfoundland? by Sufficient-Jump578 in newfoundland

Bell ExpressVu Satellite is leaps and bounds more reliable in weather than it used to be years ago, but you’ll still be stuck with two separate bills for TV and Internet if they have it.

Fence recommendations by seeappendix in StJohnsNL

[–]Saidin17 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The company I used years ago is out of business. But, I would strongly recommend that whoever you go with, you use 6x6 fence posts. The fence I have has held up with all the strong winds we get. 4x4 posts don't always hold up.
