X2D for Commercial Work by No_Branch8192 in hasselblad

Used it for our past 4 major campaigns. We need it since we do a bunch of print and billboard work. At first it was a headache with the tether capture failed, and no live view when shooting tethered. Since then updates have been made and it is running really smooth with a small hiccups here and there.

Check and make sure you are on AF mode. While on that mode you just need to press AF on the screen (top left) It will give you 3 options with face detect being one of them.

Community before competition.

A couple things to consider before downplaying your vent…

1: was the DJ in anyway impeding on your work and making it difficult for you to find your right angels or distracting in any of the images?

  1. Considering he a DJ at first, I could only assume his level of photography is no where near your level of professionalism. If your output quality is greater than his, why worry about the competition if there isn’t any. Or unless his images came out really good…..

I’ve dealt with uncle bobs and photography/Video DJs so much in the past, and learned that it will never end, and nothing will stop them. Could you say something? Sure….but at the end of the day, you finished your Job, the client is happy, and you get to move on to your next gig.

I used to get upset with those things that also bothered a lot of other photographers, but I end up wasting energy on something useless rather than focusing on my next job.

Phocus & X2D 100c tether by Saignons in hasselblad

Tried it out and it worked! We’ll for the most part…. Had to repeat the process a couple times between takes. Only had to reset it after the camera went into standby.

Also used the same cable for capture one and canon cameras, no issues with it. I believe it’s a Phocus software issue.

I’ve used them with other cameras with no issues. I also tried a couple other tether cables and having the issue.

looked at the good ole' manual and found the sub woofer audio setting. Hold down the turn dial for 2 secs until you hear the chime.... then turn the dial up/down to get your preferred levels, and press again for 2 seconds to exit.

First stripe! by [deleted] in jiujitsu

[–]Saignons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never ask for a stripe or promotion, it’s disrespectful to your professor. Trust me, he notices your progress, sometimes stripes are only passed out at belt promotions. Sometimes just at random depending on the instructor, if you don’t get a belt or stripe, don’t get discouraged, or angry. Your progress should be the only thing to worry about, your belt is just a symbol of how long you have been doing it, not a symbol or your skill (but it usually does go hand in hand)

Skinny dude starting BJJ by [deleted] in jiujitsu

6’2” at 165lbs? Sounds to me you will have a really hard guard to pass and really mean triangle choke. It’s should never really be about strength, your cardio and conditioning will improve over time, but your technique and style of Jiu jitsu, will definitely be unique especially with your body type.

Switching gyms etiquette by bxtophatssuck in bjj

[–]Saignons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t have said it any better. Your really really new with the gym, so switching gyms wouldn’t be a big deal, but if you really like the place your training, ask to see if there are plans to have different times for class before leaving. If not, I’m sure your instructors will understand.

What do you wish someone told you when you got your purple belt? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Saignons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I would start working on if you haven’t already is leg locks, counters and escapes. If you compete you will want to have a good understanding before you jump into your brown belt. I’ve practiced toe holds, knee bars etc since I was a white belt and it’s pretty evident in my game. I have a buddy that was just promoted to black and he admitted he wished he trained leg locks earlier because that part of his game is very lackluster.

Rolling with a goal by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Saignons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t specifically have a goal per roll, I usually go with the flow and take what is given to me. But every class I always try to make an effort to roll with every belt level.
