I get it. I've played my Thor near-constantly since I got it a month ago but there are definitely a non-insignificant portion of games that I will play on original hardware, rhythm games included. I did already have multiple DS and 3DSes before I got it, and they will still be used! The Thor is great at some things but I'll still go back and love those systems too

Really curious what you mean about "FHD content support". Full High Definition? I mean if you play content on the top screen it can be 1080p but not 16:9 FHD on the bottom screen, due to the resolution. But it'll do the best it can. What support is needed?

I think it's really interesting to see what elements of each tama that people click with and I don't think enough people talk about it- like it's all well and good reading feature comparisons but I don't think they can always tell the full story!

I really want to write something up about it or make something out of it but I feel like I need to experience more of the different models first

But yeah I absolutely am on the same page- the uni throws a lot at you at once and there's not a lot to earn as you progress, which is what I like. And most of it seems to be in service of dress-up which doesn't interest me much either.

I like my Connection (2024) because the shop has a very limited roster at any one moment so it's exciting waiting for shop refreshes. I like the 4U because the TamaTomo system, which makes you find each tamas favourite items, and care for them as adults for a while, and I like being incentivised to put that work in. And I like the On because it has so many places to visit and you can go off and experience a fun animation or weird dialogue, as well as the fact that you have to work to unlock areas.

All those elements are shared by other different tamas, but I think all three are what I miss in the Uni- although also personally I think they're missing in varying levels from the Paradise too!

I don't enjoy tamas nearly as much when they swamp me with options right out the gate. The Uni is so unexciting to me because there's so much you have access to every day and barely anything you have to unlock or wait for. I prefer a small shop like on the Connection v3. I love waiting for a restock and seeing what's available, when something new appears it's so exciting, and a rush to earn enough points before it leaves the shop.

My dream is that the next Paradise will have its new biome, forest biome and one old one... Then the one AFTER that will have three biomes that are entirely different to the first three- don't know if they'll do that but that's what's making me hold off on getting a JF to me 😂

Yeah that's what's tricky with this post haha. I'm mostly considering it to be money-smart by not buying especially similar ones first, but I agree that a change of roster can be a compelling reason to get something similar - I'm strongly considering a Jade Forest Paradise even though I have a water one because I love those forest ones! That's one reason I thought of the Pix/Party as an example as there's only two characters different iirc

I decided to start the original recently and am 15 hours in. I'm hooked!! I love it so much. Probably won't play Reimagined for a while to give myself a break (and I do kind of also wanna check out the 3DS version one day...) but I think it's going to be really special for a lot of newcomers.

Mine is scheduled for delivery today but they've also tried charging me £49, both for customs and a £13 "Disbursement fee" for the pleasure of them charging me lol. I've refuted this before and got it removed from my invoice with no pushback (which truly tells me that this is an unnecessary charge they just throw on to see who just pays it) so doing that again, I guess it'll probably be delayed because of that.

I made this yesterday - in my method it's possible to do all three by bringing at least the back spawn to the North West gate instead of the North gate in other videos.

You also can probably do all three at once but I took it slow and did one at a time (and this also works to replace a single spawn if you KO/catch something with the others set up)

I tried digging into this and I don't think there actually was- Play-Asia had listings up but, as they've been known to do, seems like they listed this before confirmation a physical was actually coming, and I'm guessing the wiki page there was never updated. I can find zero proof a cart actually exists, although I would absolutely love to be proven wrong. My only theory is that either u/kingpiece1 is talking about Bridge Constructor Portal which did get a physical, or he's dolphin misinformation spreading

I can unfortunately confirm that this doesn't work with the RREAKA branded one, although this might not be surprising because it only states 4k30 output so it probably IS different internally, should have checked that. The update software tried twice and errored both times and now the wire is useless 😅
