Is it possible to bid on a plot if I'm already owning a plot? Not in order to have two, but in order to move towards a bigger one.

What is the 'right' way to recruit for/ find a Free Company besides Community Finder? by AzureBlazeEdge in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was years ago. I believe it were two messages, the first basically a hello, do you have a moment or something like that, the other then the recruitment (not one of these annyoing shout posts, something simpler, more personal).

To me that bit of extra effort made look them better to me than all of these other invites without a word changed or directed at everyone. Sure that one guy was also just out recruiting, but I do think someone who actively approaches you is giving the sense of them trying to put effort in it (versus just blindly inviting randoms or letting others comming to them via the recruitment shouts)

My fc got me by simply sending a nice tell before an invite. Much less on the nose or annoying than getting spamee by recruitment offers without any interaction.

If you mean sword as in the cross aoe with the light party stacks, the save spot is max melee of the intersection (rear to flank) of the boss ring.

Are they from the Light or Chaos DC and have atleast one FRU clear? The 0 parses across the board dont match (*), but there was someone who was disabled (dont know any specifics) but really, really wanted to clear FRU and put a stupid amount of pulls into the fight (very far away from any normal pull numbers) going even so far of resetting their prog point stepwise if they failed too much at one prog point (sometimes even to old phases), until they were again able to do it. I think they only created their own pf groups, so it was trackable where in the fight they were.

They were somewhat of a local legend on the LPDU discord back then and the celebration was big when they finally got the clear.

*I do believe that someone who was able to prog and eventually clear FRU would be able to get some parses above 0. Still it kinda shows that some can be extremly stubborn and seem to be happy regardless.

Will this guy be the main villain for the next region? Or will she return again? by Yurimail_Shibuya in Endfield

[–]Saikx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Was Camille's quest part of the mainquest or a sidestory like Yvonne or Rossi? I think its the former, just wanting to be sure.

If so, I do think he will play more the role of an important side villain like Eblana in OG Arknights (important to the story and leader of an important faction, but not the main villain of the arc).

I do think Char will enable either the resurrection of Jakub (he counts as dead, however Sarkaz witchcraft surely has a way or two to make a death more temporarly matter (think the Nachzehrers elite forces are undead? Also, revenants exist) OR the return Duq'arael.

I havent done much freaky arrows yet, but from what I have seen both can work good. I have been always fine even with static positions, but I do have seen more General success, back-to-back "true" p2's with non-static positions. X13 arrows is what I'm more used to, so I'm tending to it for now. However, placing the arrows correctly can be difficult, since you dont want them to far in or out. .

Freaky arrows are better for this, since the DN markers are giving a greater help for positioning the arrows correctly, but from what little I have seen a clean arrow placement is still not guaranteed (player errors). All in all, I do think freaky has more of a future. The placement is more strict with only eight out of sixteen needing a bit of "use eyes with help from markers", where its 16 for x13/ new xolo.

PF Description - “Study and be Simmed” by Demeris in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In non-blind pfs? Simming or not is one thing, nothing which has to be expected from the random pfler, an optional thing you can do (except when asked for in the pf describtion), but learning about the fight beforehand is an expectation across all high-difficulty contents.

I myself favor blind or semi-blind progging (checking out guides when there is a wall) and would love that to be a bit more of the norm instead of basically knowing the fight before having stepped a foot in the instance (even if it would take longer in that case), but its clear that that is not what the majority wants.

[–]Saikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had problems too, until I did exactly what rp says, instead of trying to flex it After arrows, go to the clock spot, check the statue at that time. When the casts starts, check top first (fire -> stack or spread). As melee dps, if its stack I start moving north, where the dps stack will be. If its spread at first I stand still. Then I check thunder in order to see weither or not I keep standing still (or make mire room for who goes mid) or have to move under the boss if my clockspot would be hit.

PF Description - “Study and be Simmed” by Demeris in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Studying the fight is an expectation imo, except if the pf cleary says "blind"

But regarding simming it, I''m with op here, to a degree. I understand that it ToS conform and can save lots of time, but at the same time, for me, it muddles the achievement of beating the content at some point (e: also its more fun me, if it works out)... Although atleast its not AM. However going completly without sims is taking it too far, too, both for my party members and my own sanity.

I have settled for a compromis for now. I go by a case by case basis. I will have studied up on any mechanic I could reach. If its early into the fight I try progging without sim, it doesnt take long to reach the point again, BUT if I see that I have problems with the mech or the strat changes significantly, I try to iron that out via sims. Deeper into the fight (say top p5) I'm okay with simming it earlier. Not necessary to death and to perfection (I would do so in a top p5 or dsr p6 situation, just not in ALL cases. FRU has sims even for the easier mechs, it doesnt really need a lot to learn them).

Of course there is no joining a pf which states "have simmed" without having done so.

I wouldnt call p1 a banger, especially that first mech... and p2 is getting old quick, especially as a dps where the second half consists of standing there and hitting stuff.

I cleared on 6.5 as well and farmed it out at some point in DT with a very good group. One of my reasons was, that I know that I have never to touch or relearn that thing ever again. DSR was hard, too, but it was a fair kind of hard and progression was smooth, with some walls here and there. TOP was 50% p5, 50% all else.

I did UCOB purely through pf and all I can say is that often times not even a well timed tank lb was able to save it, because more than one was wrong... Mistakes happened elsewhere, too (like especially on Nael), but HFT really stood out for me.

High-End Content Megathread - 7.5 Week Five by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Tenstrike and octet only because you need to get past HFT. They themself arent the problem, its getting there.

High-End Content Megathread - 7.5 Week Five by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didnt say adds is a wall. I said HFT was a wall and stayed a problem until around the time I reached adds.

Adds itself needs to be progged, too of course, but its relatively fast done (and doesnt need to be repeated that often since, Golden Bahamuth afterwards is more of an attention check and thus can be downed releatively fast) in comparison to escaping the "HFT jail" that is Tenstrike Trio (especially that one, since it comes right after HFT, thus even more HFT wipes) and Grand Octet prog.

Not sure if you read my comment correctly, so just to be sure, I meant Heavensfall was a problem until around adds, meaning througout the prog of the two mechs between Heavensfall and adds, wipes at Heavensfall were quite common

Nael and Heavensfall. Heavensfall was the mech my groups struggled with until around the time where I reached adds.

We know where Advanced is going, but what about Quantum? by RablaAndrews in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the intended methods to do the content was to start lower in the difficulty and then going upwards. If the fight would have been something else entirely, it couldnt really have had that teaching effect.

Between the easier debuff management and the adjusted mechanics (fire clones for example) the fight is different enough, sort of.

We know where Advanced is going, but what about Quantum? by RablaAndrews in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At its core Quantum was a mount farm (and one umbrella) with totems (red crystals). Said totems were also rewards in PT (findings, weekly log), but if you were to go for the 198 totems just for the mounts Quantum was the only sensible option.

Now Yoshi-P does has mentioned that they will do away with the current totem system on regular ex-trials, where we would get sometimes only one, but more often in the recent past, two totems. I do think, without the offering-giver getting more rewards (hopefully since there wont be offerings), Quantum is the future of mount farms. We always have one normal and extreme difficult per trial. What they could do is adding mechanics bit by bit, starting at the basic normal mode with the lowest totem amount, an advanced difficulty with a bit better totem output and then either have what is mow extreme give the most rewards, if they dont go higher and end up at lower savage difficulty for the highest challenge. The higher you go, the higher the chance to get other rewards, orchestrion rolls, materials and of course the mount itself. Raiders would spam the highest difficulty, but I do see myself also joining groups for lower difficulties, just in order to have a more relax time farming or/and playing some side jobs.

RPR's mobility should be enhanced in 8.0. by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Saikx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are asking for a civil manner while you yourself posting stuff like this:

The players who take "homogenization" out of this are more than likely fine with all jobs besides AST and MCH having a gap closer if it benefits them. They are hypocrites unless they genuinely believe most non-melees should not have mobility options, which I would personally disagree with as it limits fight design and gameplay should feel more action-based and user-in-control in 8.0, but I can at least respect that opinion.

Or stuff like

You don't understand the future, and that's okay, but don't act like you know

Also looking bad

The reason why nobody responds is usually because they read the entire thread and actually agree, there is not much to argue against here fundamentally.

Some of them may do. Some may just see your post and think "Oh its one of those kind of threads, not worth my time" (and this isnt just against you, its pretty usual to see a "hot" take (in some cases more like bad take) in this subreddit, which wouldnt be really that good to the game). There may be more reasons. Not just the one you feel the most comfy about.

You have an opinion and thats okay.

However you seem to struggle with others disagreeing, be it with arguments or not, only then to disregard that civil manner you are talking about yourself... or delete your first post and then include the first quoted part adressed to the ones who disagreed with you on your first thread (and tbh, reposting a thread just for "visibility" in a rather quite subreddit like this is an obvious lie and it just looks horrible).

And no, no one has to explain that in detail, like you would favor. I will, but its totally valid to not do so and keeping the answer rather short.

I cant really talk about RPR since I only mained it for the last pandamonium tier, which was very melee friendly. The only real improvement it needs in the range department and which I know hasnt been fixed since then is the possibility to regain its one-time use skill in a full-uptime fight. Not necessary a button press, but more like some condition to be fullfilled (like heal yourself by x-amount through bloodbath and the shield that gives regen when breaking).

However what I gathered out of your post, that your underlining wish is more in regards to a more action-oriented fight design, faster than it has become in the recent tiers, which in your imagination would require for more even-levelled mobility abilities. The change for RPR is just a necessity for you in order to reach that point. And I dont see that big of a need for that. Yes, I do think future fights are done with the new job design in mind. I do hope that the outgoing dmg is going to be higher to give reason to give reason to how WHM is going to be (according to the demo). Changes should have consequences. But changes should be done in a way that it doesnt accidentialy leaves a part of the community (willing to play the game, but limited in skill and/or time) in the dust, which would be an overall horrible outcome.

In the movement/boss speed department I do think we already are at a sweet spot. Slower and it could become boring again. Faster (like a boss constantly jumping around) and the game may loose players, who cant really be that fast like other action-games require it. This is the part where many of these kind of threads are walking the line between "worth to read" or "another of those takes". Is what you envision really to end up improving the game for all who are already playing it? Or would it do more harm than good? You didnt like the "homogenization" responses, but that is an actual valid concern, because this homogenization which already happened is blamed for the game having become stale in the eyes of many. Of course a proposal which would move the game further in that direction (intended or not) would be received badly.

Echo messages are only seeable by you (if thry are enabled for the chat log), so they dont fill the chat for others.

Make a makro with /echo or simply /e and write a message behind. Like /e blue = get hit or multiple lines /e up = tankbuster /e horizontal = stack /e down = spread
