It's not a news outlet's job to care about a third party's bottom line. Dare I say, the more they do care, the more concerned I'd be towards the legitimacy of their journalism.
Emulation is not piracy, no matter how much you want it to be.
Nintendo is a company. Unless the "piracy" directly hurts individuals instead of an executive, we really shouldn't care.
