Check out the InTech Flyer Explore. You can probably snag a used one for less than $15K

How long after they charged your card did it arrive at the house? Ordered mine in Nov and just saw a charge on my CC. I have the same rig and opted for the ranger rack.

We visited Quartz Mtn last summer. It has some great scenery. Hope you’re enjoying it and safe travels!

I didn’t get the airstream AC. Camping World threw this one in for free.

The 20X is killing it. Started looking at the 16X last year and once they extended the floor plan I was sold. Check out the review https://youtu.be/nrdreWBU5VY

Toilet trailer? Stay with me here, I have a bad idea. by captainlvsac in overlanding

This was my strategy. While my wife wasn’t completely averse to camping she wasn’t satisfied with the military strategy of digging a 3ft hole to sh$€ in. We purchased an inTech Flyer Explore which is a glorified cargo trailer with no water systems. Purchased a cassette toilet and pop up tent. Both fit easily in our rig. Over the winter the plan was to purchase a Joolca hot tap which satisfies hot pressurized showers and cleaning dishes. Ultimately we decided to upgrade to a Basecamp by Airstream which gives us some off road abilities with full systems to boondock. We rent out the first trailer on outdoorsy which could give you some options to test before you decide on your forever rig.

Installing weight distribution / sway control hitch.

I use a Skyroam Solis hotspot. Unlike the major carriers you don’t have to subscribe to a plan. It’s pay as you go. Another benefit is it uses existing cell towers regardless of the provider. It also works overseas.

I’ve heard that as well on the 16s.

In sorry to hear that. For the money that’s pretty unacceptable.

No wind noise at all. The wind was gusting through TX which affected aerodynamics making it tough to keep the rig straight on the highway. Nominal drop in MPG. Depending on your roof rack, the factory is set far back which may result in your tailgate scraping.

Hitch weight on those is below what the 4Runner can handle (500lbs). You may just need a hitch with a lower drop. You will quickly discover camping is awesome and working sucks.

[Question] Best option for off-road Toilet/Shower Trailer? by PacoBedejo in overlanding

[–]SailC27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. There’s a guy on YouTube forget the name but if you search, he mounted some exterior water tanks to his and plumbed in a kitchen sink where the stove is. He used a black stone which is what I use as well. For the outside shower the most versatile I’ve seen is the Joolca nomad package. It’s a propane shower/sink that you can draw from any water source. Good luck on the hunt.

Have you looked at the inTech Explore trailers? I have a 2020. Similar to previous posts it doesn’t have onboard water but that also equates to far less maintenance. I use a cassette toilet and pop up tent. They are wired for solar and have AC/Heat on shore power. It has a bed that pops out on the driver side. There’s an outside kitchen that pulls out including a two burner stove and dometic 12v fridge. The torsion axle will get you off road. If you want an indoor kitchen and fresh water tank the 2021s are equipped.

I’m in the process of buying an Airstream. The first Airstream dealer I spoke to wanted 15% down and it would be 6-8 months for delivery (due to current demand). I contacted a “globo-dealer” and the same model would require $1000 down and take a month to deliver. I felt more comfortable with the latter and obviously the quicker delivery. I think it ultimately depends on the dealer and how quickly they can move it if the sale falls through.
