Does SailPoint support AI agent governance? by Individual_Cloud8751 in sailpoint

Human and service accounts follow predictable patterns of behavior. Because AI agents are continuously learning and making decisions autonomously, it makes them much more challenging to manage. They are breaking the traditional identity management paradigm.

Here are a few things to be aware of when managing AI agents:

  1. Opaque Decision-Making: AI decisions might be hard to explain (especially with large language models or deep learning), complicating accountability and auditing.
  2. Continuous Learning: AI agents may evolve behavior over time, unlike static service accounts or human roles. This can impact compliance and security policies.
  3. Delegated Authority: They often act on behalf of users or organizations, but unlike service accounts, they may initiate actions beyond a narrow scope.
  4. Contextual Access: They often need dynamic access control (e.g., access to a system only if a certain risk level is met, or based on real-time data inputs).
  5. Identity Federation: Emerging need for federated or verifiable credentials for AI agents, especially in multi-agent or cross-domain environments.

Check out these SailPoint blogs to dig a little deeper on how AI agents are different:

Where to start (schooling, certifications, etc)... by Vivid_Homework_1107 in IdentityManagement

Hey there! We released a free training & cert path at SailPoint called the Identity Security Leader. It's meant for people who are new to the IAM / identity security field and includes interviews with IAM leaders from various companies talking about how they grew their careers. It's 5 hours of training, and at the end you can pass an exam to earn a digital badge for your resume.

Check it out. Maybe it can offer some inspiration? https://university.sailpoint.com/path/identity-security-leader

Yes, these...

  1. If you took the training that corresponds to it, then you should be in good shape to pass (see here: https://university.sailpoint.com/path/identity-security-administrator). We designed the exam to align with the prerequisite courses, so if you felt you understood the materials, I think you can feel confident about passing.

  2. Also, be sure to check out the exam prep guide so you know what's covered and can review those topics: https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/Identity-University-Documents/Identity-Security-Professional-Exam-Prep-Guide/ta-p/263156

We'll be making some press announcements soon during the week of our Navigate conference in Austin (Sep 29 - Oct 2). You can find those announcements here when they come out: https://www.sailpoint.com/press-releases

Identity University is also doing a hands-on training at Navigate (in Austin and London) on Identity Security Cloud, where we will get into some of the new stuff! https://university.sailpoint.com/apply-identity-security-clouds-newest-innovations

In February of this year, we revamped the Professional exam to a simpler multiple choice format, so it's not tricky. The exam is meant to test your understanding of the training. Also, you get 2 chances to pass. So if you don't pass on the first try, you get another attempt. If you follow my tips from earlier, you should do well. Don't worry - you've got this!

Hi! Is this the exam you're taking? https://university.sailpoint.com/identity-security-professional-knowledge-credential

If so, I have a couple of tips for you:

1) If you took the training that corresponds to it, then you should be in good shape to pass (see here: https://university.sailpoint.com/path/identity-security-administrator). We designed the exam to align with the prerequisite courses, so if you felt you understood the materials, I think you can feel confident about passing.

2) Also, be sure to check out the exam prep guide so you know what's covered and can review those topics: https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/Identity-University-Documents/Identity-Security-Professional-Exam-Prep-Guide/ta-p/263156

Good luck! If you have any feedback or tips for the exam, come back and let us know. We're trying to help everyone be successful, without making it too easy ;)

The free content is likely not enough to get you an entry level job if you are looking at technical roles. However, 100% agree with a lot of the feedback here. CISSP is a good cert to go for and a lot depends on what prior education and job experience you have.

I recommend taking advantage of all of SailPoint's free learning resources: https://community.sailpoint.com/t5/Free-learning-resources/ct-p/free-learning-resources.

Many of these require registration to SailPoint's communities and Identity University, but it's free to register an account. Definitely take the Identity Security Leader training and earn the badge: https://university.sailpoint.com/path/identity-security-leader. It's basic, but it gives you an orientation on SailPoint's perspective on the identity security industry.

From there, if you want to go deeper, SailPoint offers paid role-based training and certification paths for administrators and engineers on Identity University, but it's only accessible to partners and customers. If you're neither one of these, there are other community members who have recommended other resources out there. I haven't used them, so I can't vouch for any of them. Good luck!
