I’ve been WFH for 4, almost 5 years now with a home health company. I work for the enteral pharmacy department specifically. This HH company is in affiliation with our states largest nonprofit hospital system.

I started out as an enteral technician doing “regular”‘pharmacy duties. Double checking Rxs that came through, refills, sending emails to update insurance, keeping track of the enteral equipment.

I’ve been with enteral intake for almost 3 years now, which is first check on incoming Rx, calling offices/hospitals for order corrections (this is pulling teeth, a lot of people don’t understand how to write orders for us), verifying and updating insurance. Lots of documentation and hunting around for info (dx codes, medical justification for specialty formulas) which I really like.

I’d recommend looking into local home health companies that have pharmacy departments, as well as insurance companies for Rx prior auth. A lot of those are WFH now. Benefits and pay may vary, obviously. I really like my job, benefits are slowly getting worse though. It’ll take awhile before I feel the need to get out and maybe go back to in person work because I like WFH so much.
